Ouch! G8M & G3M gens broken [SOLVED]

OK, this seems weird but anyhow:
After loading a G8M-character and adding something which was missing a noticed some color distortion above the privat parts. Strangly this was not going away with other textures. So I tried a plain G8M with the same problem. Un- and reinstalling both figure and AE without any additional G8M morphs or UVs also brought no change. The problem seems to be coming from the graft being not properly attached to the figure but rather with a little offset so its "baseplate" is somewhat sunken underneath the skin. See the screenshots which are hopefully cropped enough to not cause any problems.
Just curious I checked with G3M and there is the same problem. Even G2M did not look all right whereas there was more of the baseplate visual once no texture was applied.
Now I unfortunately have not the slightest clue what might have caused this. Did install a lot recently both from DAZ as well as from 3rd party sites. Also some plugins. But I wonder what needs to be fixed. Will try out a new library just with the base figures to see if that makes a difference and then probably disable plugins as a next step. But I actually don't have the time for playing bughunt for a day.

Check the tool, the pointer is okay. If using the editor tool the geografts undo.
From those images, are you sure you have them attached? On the scene tab if you hide the geograft, is there a huge gapping hole?
Oh my god. I was still in Geometry Editor tool/mode. That caused it. Should have known since it affected not only G8M. Had something similar with MeshGrabber which also needs to switch tools to have everything appear normal again. Started to check out the geometry editor only recently so completely forgot about it.
OK, now that was cringe AF. Making myself ready to do a few rounds on the walk of shame.
Nothing to be shamed by ... it happens to everybody at some point in their creative modes ;-) Walk in peace :-)
