Yes, it is messed up. The Nickname field is so you can put in a name for your card - the nickname replaces most of the numbers in your credit card so that no-one can see the number (not so useful at home, but might be useful if you do an order on-line while in a public place where someone might be watching over your shoulder?).
There are a few threads discussing problems regarding credit cards - the best advice is to put in a Sales Ticket explaining the problem with your credit card. Make sure you take a copy of your cart (print screen is best) to show the items ordered and the amount you expect to pay. You might need to wait a few days for someone to respond to your ticket.
Good luck.
Are either one of you able to purchase items without a "Error Processing Payment"?
If you are still having problems, you might try this workaround. Found this somewhere in the Store Issues thread. I had the same problem for the first few weeks of the update and the following worked.
On 11/11/20 saw this:

If you are still having problems processing your credit card, please go to your account settings and delete your saved credit cards and addresses and add a fresh address in there. Then during the checkout re-enter your card from scratch. The new credit card handling system is more strict so differences in your address could be showing up more than they used to, the only information we see on this end is that the card was declined and obviously we don't log any of the information that you are entering so we can't see anything more."
I deleted my saved profiles and address within the Payment Methods of My Account. Created a new address. Then, made sure I had a couple items in my cart. Clicked on the Shopping Cart. Created a CC profile from within the shopping cart, hit "Place Order" and successfully completed the transaction.
Say, Melamkish, I tried that method with something from fastgrab in the cart and low and behold, it saved my credit card info. Great! Thanks!
Yes - my credit card works, and PayPal plays nice. I did a work-around similar to Melamkish's but not exactly the same, since I couldn't delete the existing wrong address (my computer has issues that will be cleared up shortly LOL).
