Some more promos. I've also created several videos in my youtube account explaining the new features.

An introduction to the newest version of my product Wet Body for DAZ Studio.

    From the product page:

Geometry Shells are second skins so it makes this product UV independent. It means it can be used on any DAZ human model.

Really? Or is it just the G2M/F figures as indicated lower on the page?

By UV independent I mean the shell being a second skin allows your character underneath to use any skin without the effect loosing compatibility unlike previous sets that you could only use with matching UVs. The shell itself has G2M/F or M5/V5 UVs but as said before that is independent of the figure's texture underneath.

The DAZ human model needs to be compatible with DAZ Studio geometry shells. Unfortunately DAZ Studio geometry shells parameters don't work right now the same with previous generations as they work with Genesis 2 so at the moment it is limited to Genesis 2 male and female and all of its characters: Gia, Lee, Gianni, Aiko 6, etc. So it is any DAZ human model from the Genesis 2 family as it specifies in "Compatible 3D Figures".

I assume that these geometry shells can't be used in Poser?

Geometry Shells are a DS only feature. However, if you have a copy of Dimension3D's 2nd skins product, you could possibly export a copy of genesis 2 as a CR2 and use that to create a 2nd skin to import back in as clothing. May not work as well on the head, but body should be fine.

Correct, like Male-M3dia said Geometry Shells are a DS only feature.

Ooh! Is this perhaps the successor to Wet Body Gen 5? :)

    Edit: Nevermind, it is. :)

Then you should have clearly stated 'Genesis 2 family figures ONLY'. (For now?) You didn't so I thought it could be applied to the old Genesis or even M4/V4 and M3/V3. Bought it and discovered otherwise.

Yup, I'm one happy customer. 8-/

In theory geometry shells should work with any 3D model but they are not working like that right now. I have inquired DAZ about it. My contact person at DAZ told me yesterday he doesn't knows if it is a bug or intended behavior and was going to inquire about this but being a holiday I still haven't received an answer.

When you are buying a product "Compatible 3D Figures" is the place to go for figure compatibility. It is listed correctly as Genesis 2 Female and Genesis 2 Male only. You have 30 days to return the product if you are not satisfied. I have contacted DAZ to delete that sentence in the long description, I understand it could create confusion. Hopefully they will be able to edit it today or early tomorrow since it is a holiday here in the US. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I was unsure about that matter before testing, but actually it works on V4 textures used on G2F, with "V4 for G2F", which is great :)

Yes, any texture accepted by Genesis 2 Female and Male are compatible. The figure needs to be Genesis 2.

I am so glad I found this thread, I bought the shell a few weeks ago and used the DIM and I am getting an installer message

the installation fails and the log shows the following

Installing product : Wet Body Geometry Shells
    Could not extract file : C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/Runtime/Textures/SimonWM/Sweat/Layers/chest drops.png
Product installation failed : Wet Body Geometry Shells

support told me to re download the file but not luck.

Other people seem to be doing OK with this, am I just unlucky?

(I want those chest drops ;) even if they are G2 only at the moment)

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your installation. This is the first time I hear of this and QA never found this error. That file was a beta file that should have been removed, the product doesn't uses it.

Could you please ignore this error and do a manual install by downloading the zip file. I will notify QA so they can find out why is the installing failing for you, luckily this seems to be a special case since the product has sold extremely well and it is the first time I hear of this error. I've also installed from DIM and didn't get the issue. Hopefully QA can remove the reference to that file from the installer. Thanks.

Thank you, I love your products and I am glad that you make them and also seem to make use of the more advanced elements of DAZ Studio. Now I just have to get better at using this stuff.
(Maybe I am just the only person that reported the issue, I can certainly try again with the DIM and fall back to the zip file.

Thank you, twitchew. I have been told by DAZ QA they will look into it today so that's good news. :)
