female hair on a male figure

I am working on a scene that has a male elf figure in it.  The Look that I am going for is to have the model wear a long braid in his hair but am having trouble finding a male hair that is braided.  There are tons of female hair styles however that have a braid of some kind or another so I was wondering if I can find one that is rather masculane can I use a Gen 8 female hair on a Gen 8 male figure?

I use shorter Gen 8 Female hair on my Gen 8 Male figures quite often.  When loading the long braid female hair on the male figure, select Genesis 8 Female as the figure the item was originally designed for and then the item type will be Hair - Shoulder Length Hair.  The hair should then autofit to Genesis 8 Male.

Try looking at some Viking Hair that's braided, you might find something for Genesis 8 Male that works for you.
