Weird line across sky when rendering

I'm using the Sun-Sky only setting when rendering, and setting Draw Dome on to create the sky.

This works fine for the correct sun position, but when moving the sun (by changing the time of day) I get this weird line in the sky as you can see in the picture.

It's as if it isn't rendering any pixel above the line, but is rendering all pixels below the line. I've tried playing with the dome sliders but I can't get rid of this line without moving the sun (which then prevents me getting the correct lighting).

Why does it do this? It's only the dome sky which is impacted, not other textures. It looks very odd in every render, even if I let it run for some time.

It is hard to tell with that small section render, but to me that looks like a reflection of a wall in the window? Which would explain its dependence on light direction. Is there a window material? If so set it's opacity to 0 and see if it goes away.

  • Oh great shout I changed the Refraction Index of the window surface and the problem went away - thanks for this!
