[Is Octane Render Kit compatible with DS 4.12?] The reason I ask is because I refuse to install v4.14 after reading poor reviews from users in multiple threads.  Though the problem may be more with iRay, but if I do successfully install Octane, I won't have to rely on iRay ever again.

  • Hi,

I've just tried installing it on my 32-bit installation of DS 4.12 (I already upgraded my 64-bit version) and it didn't work. However, I got the same result when I installed it for the Public Build of 4.14 (also 32-bit on my machine).

If you use the 64-bit version of DS 4.12, it might be worth a shot. It shows up as "plordazs" in the plugin manager.

  • I checked out the Plugin manager, and it shows that "plordazs" has failed, as per red plug icon.  How do I fix it so it could be installed?

  • Yes it is, ORK has actually been made on 4.12 as 4.14 wasn't yet released at the time and package was tested later on both and should work on both versions of DS just the same :)

However if your Octane plugin is failing to load, make sure you don't have an older version of the plugin already installed, you can only run one (even though new one may not uninstall the old one automatically) or you may experience crashes and Daz or plugin failing to load. Check your DS plugin folder and if needed remove the old version and reinstall new one.

    Hope that helps.

    V.
