Render issues... Is this a bug? What settings could cause this?(FIXED)

AlbiejeeAlbiejee Posts: 153

I am having problems with my renders. Seems like randomly characters in my scenes will render as if all of their opacity is set to 25% or so. Not using Subsurface scattering, so that's not the issue. Changed my render settings but it doesn't do anything.

Examples:
First image looks good. no problem
Second image --loaded different pair of pants-- nothing else changed in scene. Preview widow doesn't change, but complete genesis character renders with partial opacity now.

Anyone know what could cause this?

This is strange. Could you confirm on us that :
    - the opacity of the skin is 100%
    - All the opacity maps slots are empty?

The opacity of the skin is still 100%
I didn't look closely at the opacity maps- I'll check at lunch.

Some clothing items do this while others will not.

Both Genesis and Genesis2 does it... haven't checked m4 or v4 yet.

    All opacity maps slots empty.

does this even with default grey Genesis

( Luthbel Way of the Samurai or Way of the Shinobi for Genesis are two that I know do this)

genesis renders with partial opacity but everything else in the scene is ok.

I think I'll try to take a video of what is happening and show the surface tab and render process. Hopefully someone can see what is going on...

I'm not getting this with Way of the Shinobi, default gray Genesis, all clothing loaded except mask, ninjato, and saya. What lighting are you using?

    ETA: I'm using 4.6.3.52

    Found the problem.

For some reason I had the box for Motion Blur checked. Deselected it and not having the problem anymore.

Odd that it would do this with some clothes in the scene and not with others, but seems to be working now.

    One to remember...

    Thanks for the help.
