Not sure what's going on here. Trying to load a save file I had worked 3 hrs on, creating a character. I close DAZ and get back to it a few hrs later.
"Error, can't read file. Check log for details".
Help>troubleshoot>log
What it says?
"Error, can't read file. Check log for details".
There are no details.

This same thing happened to me yesterday, too. I tried to open two different scenes saved from one master scene.
I also checked the log file and had the same effect you described. No additional information was available.
What I found is the suspiciously small file size of 2KB and 1KB. This however was after adding more stuff to the master scene, that already is about 6MB in size.
At the moment I have no idea why and how that exactely happened. :-(
Can you uncompress the files (through the Batch Convert pane in DS or using an archive tool? If so, does the last line just contain closing braces } or does it have part of a line of code?
This can happen if you run out of space when saving, DS doesn't warn that the save failed.
Trying to uncompress the files gave the following error message: Error converting the following files:
I think in my case you may be right about the cause of the failure. The space on the disk I was saving to was indeed really low! Thanks for your help!
I have had that happen twice, the first time with a file that had about 20 separate scenes on the timeline, like pages in a comic book. The size of the file was little over 3GB:s and when it failed to save, the previous versions had just two or three "pages" on them - Since then I haven't used the "comic book" idea again, but saving each page in their own file.
I still keep the damaged file though, if someone knows a way to rescue what's left in it.
OMG now I've heard everything! That's really pushing your luck. I didn't even know it was technically possible but I guess it is.
Very low disc space will cause problems, DS crashing will doo it too. I start sweating when my file sizes get around 30MB. That's a huge scene for me.
