So Rawn might be getting all my money, I'm getting the bundle for sure, and I think the bear clan regenesis and debating on getting the cat world bundle, only few hours left too so have to decide quickly lol

Dammit... clicked on the bundle to check it out and got all excited when I saw under compatible figures: "Genesis, Genesis 2 Male"... good job I checked the individual packages to make sure.

Y'might want to have a talk with whoever it is that handles the storefront about this.

While the big apes are Genesis 2, Darwin is for both Genesis and Genesis 2. It is always advisable to check out bundles because they may contain individual requirements.

Ah. That makes sense I s'pose. (Darwin was the one bit I didn't bother to check.)

Might be nice if it were a bit clearer on the bundle page though.

Great set, as usual RawArt! The "Ape Wars" pic you posted in the Gallery is awesome, BTW.

Curiously the bundle counts as 1 punch. If one wanted a stack of punches (for whatever reason), buying them individually is 5 punches (albeit a tad more pricey...)

Thought I would share some art done with these critters.

The chimp is really amazing! I immediately used him for an idea I had, and though the render is pretty rough, it turned out really good!

    Well done, Rawart!

Where did you find the ironman figure?

    It's from InLite Studios. http://inlitestudio.com/3d/product-category/characters/

Attempts to export the hair on Darwin using the LAMH-player plugin seems to crash Daz. I've been trying to see if its possible to get the figure, or even an OBJ of the figure, out of Daz so I can render my scenes in Carrara or other apps - and the hair seems to refuse to go.

I've not tried the hairy options yet, but I really like the detail in the morphs and textures! They look great even in close-up.

    Here's a small group portrait.

I need more info on your setup. Are you using the full LAMH or the player? What OS and Versions?

If you can email me the DAZ log and the logFile.txt from the Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/lookatmyhairAM folder that would be helpful.

We have thousands of users exporting both OBJ and LAMH fiberhair into programs such as Vue and terragen everyday.

    Using the LAMH player.

    My setup:

    Model Name: MacBook Pro
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro11,3
    Processor Name: Intel Core i7
    Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz
    Number of Processors: 1
    Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
    L3 Cache: 6 MB
    Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Boot ROM Version: MBP112.0138.B02
    SMC Version (system): 2.19f3

Graphics Intel Iris Pro / NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
    - Set to use the GeForce when I load up Daz or other graphics applications.

    Software OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)

I've been told the OBJ export might be too large to hand for the app I plan to import it into (Carrara 8.5 Pro)... But is it perhaps also too large in this case for the OBJ export out of Daz?

In the export folder, I end up seeing a zero-byte file.

When I first export, it tells me the name will be blank, but then it opens my finder and has me pick a folder and filename to save to.

    I don't seem to have a Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/lookatmyhairAM folder.

    I don't even have a Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio folder... O.o
    - Tracking down where that has ended up.

My scenes and such are usually in:
    /Volumes/Seagate Backup Plus Drive/Daz3D/DAZ 3D
And in Documents, I have folders for DazTMP and Carrara.
    .../Documents/DAZ 3D

I wonder if I have just misconfigured a folder and so the player didn't know where to put the lookatmyhairAM folder...

Thanks for the info Arcady. I'll look into it. We've submitted a new player to DAZ that should become available via the DIM soon.

Since there are already Planet of the Apes and King Kong style renders, I figured I'd go for something a little different. The chimp makes a great Monkey King from Asian lore

I posted it in another place, but here's what I've done with them so far, a little sci-fi humor:

"We got aliens on the window again, gonna have to go out and scrape em off..."

(the alien is an ancient freebie from renderosity - there's a better toon alien for sale here, but not on sale... :) ).

Between these and the bear clan some of them look like you can use them for the actual animal and not as a humanoid animal, I bought the ape world bundle but haven't installed it yet so not sure

Ape world I was excited for once you said you were working on them and Darwin was just a really nice bonus, the bear clan looks so tempting sense they look like they can be used as a real bear and cat world as I may not use a lot I could see myself using it especially with the growing up products just not sure if LAMH will shrink down to fit or not

LAMH is independent of scale. If you get too large or small you may need to adjust the hair counts in the pane. But otherwise there are no issues.

They are cute. Just for reference, if the scales exceed 2x in either direction (50% or less, or 200% or more) then it is possible that the hair counts might need to be adjusted. LAMH has algorithms to automatically adjust for modest scaling, but extreme scales can look "weird" with hair counts set for 100% scale. For ultra small, the item can look too furry, like a plush toy, and at LARGE EXTREMES the surface will start balding/getting sparse.

Both the full and player panes allow for adjusting the hair counts for every shavegroup.
