The Disappearing Cursor is Back again.

...after nearly 11 years, I find myself once again dealing with the aggravating "disappearing cursor" which I haven't seen since something like Daz 2.20.
I've been using the 4.12.0..47 beta for a while now and it's been surprisingly stable. That is until tonight when the disappearing cursor occurred twice while I was working. The only way to clear it that I know of from the past is to save where am at, close the scene, exit the programme, restart and reload everything which puts a serious dent on the workflow, particularly with a large scene that takes a lot of time to clear out of memory and to load.

This problem has existed in every version of Daz Studio I've used. I've encountered it several times in all versions of Studio 4. It seems to be caused by accidently pressing more than one mouse button at the same time, or perhaps clicking two mouse buttons in succession too close together, but it is not consistently reproducible. That makes it hard to debug and even harder for Daz programmers to fix.
...it never ... left
you just got unlucky enough to reacquaint yourself with it
Yes, I even filled a ticket myself and developers said that they know about it but it is not getting fixed even if this is pretty easy to replicate you just press both mouse buttons and bam, cursor is gone
but fortunately, there is an easier solution to restore the cursor without rebooting:
You just need to navigate the nonexisting cursor onto the "view" place where "perspective view" is, (it is not that hard to do) then click on that and then the cursor will be back.
..yeah that' what I'm afraid of. Have my systems running all nice and fine again I guess so something has to be the "fly in the ointment".
Well two things, as I also get a lot of "not responding" messages with Chrome lately. At the most I have 3 - 4 tabs open at any time (one for here) so that shouldn't be the cause.
Select preview mode (if you can find it with the invisible mouse) and then select texture mode.
I think you can select any other mode.
you should get the cursor back without resorting to reboot of the app.
I have the same problem re-appeared after upgrading to 4.14. Have not had it on 4.11 and 4.12 :(
..I always have the viewport set to Texture Mode. Iray view is just too sluggish, evnetually fills memory, and then Daz crashes.
don't hit the buttons together and keep your daz window a quarter inch from the top of the screen and the screen left side .. so you can line up your visible cursor and pull it down or over to the drop down menu for texture view etc.

I have major issues since in a couple other programs .. the right button is movement and the left action so using the left to drag gives me many chances to push the right one also.
...I've always had the viewport window at "full screen" setting on the second display and this never happened until the other evening. I prefer having my workspace a large as possible which is why I went to a dual display set-up with all the parameter/tool tabs I usually use on one and just the viewport and Render Preferences tab on the other so I don't have to deal with a lot of toggling back & forth or minimising/maximising. I don't use Smart Content as I don't like all the screen space it takes up. I've used a custom library runtime set-up for years (before CMS) to make it easier to find what I need because of the lack of any standardised file naming convention nmd the odd nature of hte Poser runtime in Daz that put textures/MATs in the Poses folder.
...well, may have figured out how it is happening, Again I have never seen this occur before, but at times when I am manipulating the camera cube, it seems as if the pointer gets pinned to the control so no matter where I move it on the screen it continues to rotate the camera. When I click again, that's when the cursor disappears.
If you change from one display mode to another (e.g. Smooth Shaded to Textured Shaded, Wire Shaded to Smooth Shaded, etc.) that will get it back. I forgot what kind soul in another thread taught me that, but can confirm it works. Use it at least once a week.
