Broken character - how to fix ?

I created a new Genesis-based character by clicking on the Mars Explorers preset.

Then I applied the Growing Up shaping controls to turn the astronaut into a kid. Finally I had to use DFormer to modify the helmet to fit. Test renders all look fine at this point. Now I try to change the character's pose, for example by lifting an arm or flexing a finger.

At this point everything goes to hell. The suit adjusts itself to the new pose, but the genesis figure stays where it was, so now my character has 2 arms sticking out of the suit. Then, once I move the viewport all the genesis faces become jumbled.

Unfortunately this is not a one-time fluke as I was able to reproduce the behavior (after wasting another hour) a second time. What can I do to fix this ?

Trying to isolate the issue, I have found the bug:
I had parented the Spotlight to Genesis. If I change a pose while that spotlight is in the scene everything goes bad. If I delete the spotlight I can freely pose the character. Wow :-(

Have you, by chance, watched this tutorial by IgnisSerpentis and spawned a morph to use and reuse from the DFormer?

Nope. The DFormer was still in the hierarchy- no new morph spawned.
