do i have to uninstall dazstudio 4 to download or upgrade to dazstudio 4.6? will I lose any of my items?

    DS4 will be uninstalled when you install 4.6 -- you can't have both installed.

    I think if you are isntalling 4.6 with DIM you should manually uninstall 4.0. Depending on which version of 4.0 you had you should probably reinstall the content that comes with DS - the Starter Essentials and the Default Lights and Shaders - as they may be uninstalled with DS 4.0, and have been updated in any event.
