Fit to mode help

Lets say I have a piece of clothing id like to move, a fur fluff on an arm I'd like to move 3 inches down.

I change the fit to mode to auto follow transforms and the fur moves and everything looks great.

Exceeeeept when I move the character, that piece will now do its own thing and I have no idea how to make it not do that?

I can understand if i moved the piece to the characters foot or something but in this case ive only moved it from her upper arm to just above the elbow, so its on the same bone.

Any help is always welcome, thanks!

    Moving the mesh can affect the weight mapping used to smooth out joint movement so that may be part of the issue you're having. Which outfit are you using and what did you use to move the mesh down?
