Dynamic Clothing Help!

Hello all -

I'm having some difficulty with some dynamic clothing. I'm using the Optitex Dynamic Evening Gown on Victoria 4. I'm creating several different renders with different poses. It had been working just fine until just about half an hour ago. I tried to run a single frame drape, and the piece that goes around the back of her neck has started just falling straight through her neck, as if it were not set to collide.

I have the clothing set to collide with everything on the figure except her head, hair, shoulders, forearms, and hands. The cloth is colliding just as it should with the rest of her body. There is currently nothing else in the scene except for a couple of lights.

I have tried removing the item from the scene and loading a new instance, and the behavior is still the same.

Can anyone help me? What could be causing this issue, and how do I fix it?

Presumably earlier in the simulation a part of the gown has fallen through the shoulders or part of the head (which you excluded from the simulation) and once that happens things tend to go south, I'm afraid. Basically, check the simulation to see if you can spot a frame in which the gown cloth is very wrinkly all of a sudden (perhaps in just one area), then go back a few frames.

This is a common issue with the OptiTex clothing I've noticed. I did however, find a solution. It seems to be caused when there are too many collision objects in the scene. Therefore, the best remedy is to eliminate some of them from the collision settings.

I found that by removing anything that the outfit was unlikely to collide with, the problem was solved.
