Prop keep asking for a folder that I did not setup as content

Hello all, I got a bit of a problem, thank you in advance to anyone who might help me.

I've manually installed an item, and everytime I try to use it, it tells me it cannot locate the .obj

Looking around, apparently it could be because of the folder location setup. So I went and checked:

The path for the menu item in DAZ is:

E:\Programmes\DAZ\My Daz3d Library\Runtime\Libraries\Props\FreeFashion\EckbankSetModern\Eckbank_Modern.pp2

And the path to the .obj is:

E:\Programmes\DAZ\My Daz3d Library\Runtime\Geometries\FreeFashion\EckbankSetModern\Eckbank_Modern.obj

AND

E:\Programmes\DAZ\My Daz3d Library\Runtime\Libraries\Character\FreeFashion\EckbankSetModern\Eckbank_Modern.obj

Because in doubt, I went and duplicated the file in both location. It did not help.

It's the only object I have which does that? I don't understand why it ask me for a folder I didn't setup, and which doesn't exist (cannot exist, I never used poser in the first place), but I'm pretty sure that's part of the whole reason it's not working.

If anyone has a guess as to what's going on, I'm all ears

thanks again

The prop was created incorrectly. The path it is looking for existed on the creators system.

If you edit the file "E:\Programmes\DAZ\My Daz3d Library\Runtime\Libraries\Props\FreeFashion\EckbankSetModern\Eckbank_Modern.pp2" and search for the string "C:\Program Files (X86)\Poser 7\Runtime\Libraries\character\FreeFashion\EckbankSetModern\Eckbank_Modern.obj" and replace it with "Runtime:Libraries:Character:FreeFashion:EckbankSetModern:Eckbank_Modern.obj" it should resolve the issue.

That is not the only mistake the creator has done.

The *.obj files should be saved under ...\Runtime\Geometries\...

A bad habit that can even be found in Poser itself.

  • I did as you all suggested and changed the path in the file, and it now works perfectly!

    thank you everyone!! laugh
