When I load Genesis 8 Basic Female it includes Mafalda Body and Mafald Head morph at 100%.
Anyone that knows how to get them removed?

Close D/S. Dig into the data folders and find the morphs. Open them in a text editor [Notetab Light for example] {may have to decrypt them first via 7zip's extract here and add .txt extension} ... find in them where there would be a "1" to have the morph dialed in and make that a "0" ... save the file. Done.
Well.
Found the Mafalda body dsf and Head dsf but the where set to 0.
Checked CTRL Mafalda dsf and I suppose it's the morph that controls both body and head at the same time.
In that file, val was 1 so changed it too 0 but Genesis 8 still loads with Mafalda morphs at 100%.
DId i change the wrong file?
Edit:
To be clear there are 3 places with value in the CTRL file and I did set val to 0 in all places.
Did you close Daz Studio and reopen it after editing the morph file? If not, try that.
I closed it down while I did edit the files.
So have tried that.
Install a fresh copy of Mafalda then to get back the files as they were.
Is there any chance you have another character installed that is based off of Mafalda?
After you have reinstalled the product files, let's try this again.
The morph data files are under My Library > data > DAZ 3D > Genesis 8 ..... Female ... morphs ... name of Vendor ... name of product
And on the files [I expect there's one for head and one for body] ... find the VALUE and turn it to "0"
To be clear, there is ONLY ONE place to do that ;-) It is relatively near the top of the file, so scroll down slowly to find it. Have attached an image.
I looked around in the data, yes you had changed the wrong file. Please leave the Ctrl files alone ;-) It is the morph file that may need fixing.
Some of us learn how to do this as it can take awhile for CS to get a fixed file. Hopefully somebody does put in a CS ticket though to inform them of the situation and hopefully get a fix in the works.
I checked all the Head and Body files as well and they were already set to 0 so did not have to change those.
Will try and delete and downlad files again in case it makes any difference.
Should i delete the files manually or use Install manager.
Did a try to uninstall and reinstall with DIM yesterday but after unistalling files to install was in Ready to install.
So not sure if it only moved the same files and then installed them back in again.
How do I uninstall and install again making shure I get fresh files.
I dont know if any other figure is based on Mafalda. I checked the other from same seller but found no references to Mafalda in them.
But if another figure where based on Mafalda then it would almost certainly have Mafalda morphs as well as some other morph or it would not be onother figure. And the mafalda morphs are the only one.
If the installed Mafalda file is the reson I have this problem.
Then, should the problem not disapear in case i unistall / delete Mafalda?
Is there any chance that you installed with DIM and then later double clicked on the product to install it inside Daz Studio? If so, you would have two separate installations, and the one you installed from within Daz Studio (the Daz Connect version) will always have priority. If that happened, there will be a folder with 1_ followed by the product SKU within the data/cloud folder of your Daz Connect content library (not the same as your DIM content library). Any changes you make to the files in your DIM content library, including editng them or deleting them, will have no effect, becasue the Daz Connect ones will be used.
When you uninstall Mafalda, do you still see her morphs available in the Parameters pane?
Morph is still there after uninstalling Mafalda.
Dont know if i ever used DAZ connect.
How can I find path to my Daz Connect content library?
Tried to search disks for the SKU number and found 2 files in C:\Users\Christer\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Daz Connect Library\data\cloud\meta
There is a thumbnail and a json file but I cant find any morph files or similar.
Json file only seems to reference so how can it overide if there are no files?
Or, are the files loaded directly from a cloud and not in my computer at all.
In that case i cant edit them.
If so is the solution to delete the json file and download again using DIM?
Tried to delete json and jpg from meta folder but made no difference.
And I dont have a 1_SKUnumber folder in cloud folder either.
Mafalda morphs are still there?
The meta folder is just metadata - the product image and details of what it contains - not the actual product. The files are all local, not downloaded immediately for use. I suspect you have a ghost file in a regular content directory.
Thank's all for helping out.
I thought everything was installed to C:\DAZ Library\....
Thats the structure all info I found in DAZ pointed to and where files where removed when unistalling using DIM.
However, when searching trough the disks I also found Mafalda in C:\Users\Name\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio.
Head and Body morph found both had value set to 0 but the CTRL file had value set to 1.
Changing that to 0 fixed the problem.
Why do I have files in two places?
As an example.
Except for som thumbnails I seem to have the same subfolder and morphs under
C:\DAZ Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\
and
C:\Users\Name\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\
The first path seems to be where DIM downloads to and thats also where the thumpnails resides so it feels as that it is the more correct place for my files. Can i remove the duplicates in user path?
Did you ever try Daz Central? That messed up library paths for many people.
I think I tried it once when it was itroduced, but I did prefere DIM so did not use it.
So could be.
Is there any risk in temporary moving the duplicate directories to another place in order to figure out if they ar needed or not?
Daz Central is probably the culprit then.
I think the only "risk" would be that if something is installed ONLY in that unwanted directory, it would cause missing file errors in Daz Studio. If that happens, you could install the missing product with DIM to correct that problem.
I would suggest that you also open the Content Directory Manager in Daz Studio and remove that unwanted content directory from the list of directories that Daz Studio uses. You can access the Content Directory Manager is several ways. One is by Going to Edit>Preferences (shortcut key is F2). Then select the Content tab at the top of the Preferences window. Then click the Content Directory Manager button at the bottom of the Content Directory Manager window. When that opens up, Click the triangle next to DAZ Studio Formats to expand it. Click on the unwanted directory to select it and click the Remove button on the left. Then click the triangle next to Poser Formats to expand it. If the unwanted directory also appears there, click on it to select it and click the Remove button again. Finally click Accept to close Content Directory Manager. Then click Accept to close the Preferences window.
Will this only remove references from DAZ, that is, not actually remove any files from disk or should I make a backup to be sure I dont lose any user data?
It only stops Daz Studio from seeing content in those folders. It will not move or delete anything from your computer. You can remove a directory and add it back in later, if you want to. It is safe to use.
Edit to add: Of course, if you move the directory on your computer, as you suggested you might, then if you want to add it back later with the Content Directory Manager, you would either have to move the directory back to its original location, or add the new location in the Content Directory Manager, instead of the old location.
Tried to rename folder(as a backup) as well as deleting path from Content Directory Manager and I think all my own content such as saved figures etc no longer appear.
Had to restore files as well as the content path to get them back.
Checked some of my saved items and icons points into the deleted path.
So if that path is to be removed then my own data wont work.
Oh no. You probably didn't notice what content library was selected when you saved your own content. I think Daz Studio saves to the first (top of the list) Daz Studio Format directory listed in the Content Manager. You are now in purgatory with many other people who have been burned by trying Daz Central. There are whole threads where people have been screaming about Daz Central troubles. But that doesn't help you now...
SEEK ADDITIONAL ADVICE BEFORE TAKING THESE STEPS. I AM NOT AN EXPERT ON THIS ISSUE:
I wonder if you would be better off changing DIM to use that other content library, and having DIM reinstall all your DIM content to that other content library. I know that can be done, but I don't know the exact steps (in what order) to do it. (Richard Haseltine probably knows how to do it. Or you could submit a help request, but customer service is weeks behind in answering those.) Then you would configure the Content Directory Manager to use only that other one.
Or, maybe you could just merge the files from that other content library into the DIM content library. Duplicates would override each other and your personally saved content would be added.
Either way, I think DIM won't know that things you installed ONLY with Daz Central are "installed". But they would be there and usable inside Daz Studio.
I suppose that if i Just makes backup of all folders it would be possible to go back to what I have so I could possibly try to merge dem .
And yes, I was thinking the same, that the order probably did matter.
Also probably true that i did not notice OR did feel that placing my own content in user path was logical.
As it is, most thing works.
I am aware about having some things in two places so in case i have same problem I now now that I have to check both of them.
Apart from that it's mostly a wast of space issue.
So, maybe i try to clean up the install or maybe I decide that it's not worth the time to fix.
Thank's to you all for helping.
If you select everything in the Installed tab of Install Manager, after changing the path to the one you want, then you can right-click and choose the option to reinstall using current path for all selected.
