Bloated dForce file sizes

I have a scene with MRL Long Hair simulated for 120 frames, which I had to do in order to get it to hang right given the pose. The .duf file for this is nearly 6 GB, and requires upwards of 30 minutes to save. I only care about the last frame, after the simulation is done. Does anyone have a better suggestion on how to handle this? Is there any way to drop the animation data and keep the last frame?

  • I guess it depends a little on what you want to do with it, I cannot see any reason why you could not save it out as an OBJ and make a morph from it, that should work.

  • I just want to save the scene so I can edit it later and use my computer for other things in the meantime.

  • Save the whole character as a pose on the frame you want, I'm 99% positive the dForce transfers unless I'm not seeing the details change when I do it. Then clear the simulation and merge the pose onto the character and you should be good to go.
