Hi all
I have a problem with sky domes. I put one in my scene and I can't see it or do anything with it. but when I render it I see it. is there a setting some place that I am missing or what. any thoughts on this I have uploaded a photo to show what I see. the render is in the front and you can see the sky dome and texture on it. in the back ground you can see what I see with a shy dome and texture on it. nothing .

Is your camera outside the sphere and you are looking through it rather than inside looking at it? I'm not sure if sky domes are transparent when rendered.

There's skydomes, and there's the render sphere which is what you are looking at here. The render sphere works pretty much identical to most regular skydomes, but because it has a lot of individual sections it also has a much bigger memory requirement.

The first thing I'd check is the obvious. Is there anything between the camera and your scene? Some items can be 'seen through' in the render, but remain visible in the viewport. Also, check your memory usage. Most programs, and Daz Studio is no exception, have a few problems when dealing with things beyond their memory boundaries. As you approach your systems limits, strange things like this can occur.

If you're using 32-bit Daz Studio, it's worth noting that your PC can only use a small amount of RAM (roughly 3Gb), while 64-bit DS is capable of utilizing up to 16.8Tb... which is impossible to obtain with today's technology anyway.

    Hi,

for the skydomes I use, I have the settings shown in the attached picture.
    Hope it helps.

(Cast Shadows = off, because I use a distant Light as sunlight in those scenes)

I had today the same problem. And well... the problem has been created by me. jeje...
I turned on the Per Pixel Shading on the settings and that caused the problem that does not permit the skydome to display correctly. Just turn off again and done. :D
