"My DAZ 3d library"?

I`m doing a fresh DAZ Studio install on a new computer. I am using DIM to manage everything, but I notice my files are being installed in "my DAZ 3d library" when I always thought "My library" was the standard.
actually I have an empty "My library" path in the content panel.

Should I move everything to My library or is there a good reason for things to be in My DAZ 3d library? I thought zip files everywhere had a My library structure. Now I'm confused.
Thanks!

"My DAZ 3D Library" in the shared/public documents is the default used by DIM, although you can set DIM to install to ehatever path or paths you like. Since the DAZ 3D EULA allows family members to share content, the shared folders are the most reasonable default to use. Many people recommend using separate content folders for DIM-managed content and manually installed content, although this isn't mandatory.

Thank you! I think I`ll move to my library now that I don't have too much installed and see how it goes :D

If you're using DIM I'd recommend uninstalling with DIM, setting the new path to use, and reinstalling with DIM. That way DIM will be able to uninstall or update products if necessary.

Thank you, i did it that way, uninstalled with DIM, changed the path and installed again, but somehow DAZ Studio couldnt find the files and the thumbs were blank. I deleted everything and am starting all over. It's not that much, so let's see how it goes this time :)

DIM and D|S don't talk to each other — if you change the content installation location in DIM then you must change the content loading location in D|S, it doesn't happen automatically. "Deleting everything and starting over" makes absolutely no difference and does nothing except take up time, the only thing you need to do is open the Content Directory Manager in D|S and set it (both D|S and Poser formats) to the same location you set DIM to.

Yes, I did that. In fact, the location I moved things was the "My library" path already included by default in DAZ Studio. I'm not sure why it wasnt working. But uninstalling everything and starting again from scratch did the trick. I would have left the default DIM path, but my previously saved scenes had all items from a My library structure.
