New clothing cuts I have done in Hexagon - now need TEXTURES help!
Today I have tried to add extra lines to the resource kit by Ghastly which was not on the original model. This was done in Hexagon but according to Catherine done totally wrong as it at times crashes Hexagon. But with regularly saving I got thus far. I am only start learning Hexagon so this is by far not perfect!
Since I have upgraded to the latest DS4.6 Pro I also have struggled with the same steps as used on earlier version, to get it to fit onto Genesis 1 with the transfer utility but at last I got it to work. Even SubD gave some trouble but eventually did the texture job! Today was not my day but here is the result!
I am going to play more with the Hexagon lines to do a better cyclist under vest with no sleeves, etc. Still can't get the curved lines effect but all in good time!

looks great so far!
preface: i have tried with hex to model clothing and other props (it is free!) and always end up frustrated. adding to that, i know next to nothing about hexagon but have mucked about with it a lot.
to unsharpen the harsher corners you may try the smoothing brush, and also the smoother function which affects the entire mesh (use this function in steps as it will crash if you choose too high a number.)
i also get ok results with the line manipulator but this is rather tedious.
Another image of cyclist jersey with semi-open seam line. Still have to use transfer utility, etc to fit onto Genesis fully.
Thank you for your reply and advice! :)
OK, I have done the above new clothing cuts yesterday.
Now I want to add textures to the clothing item to round it off better as the current white texture is from Hexagon. I have never done any textures in the past. Only textures I have added was in Bryce 7 directly in the Bryce scene but unfortunately Bryce's build-in textures for cloth are very limited and doesn't work too well on clothing as seen in the attached image where I have tested a texture.
And if I want to add some self-made text, images and logos how will I go about it, for instance, adding a logo to a cyclist jersey with an image of a bicycle, etc. to the outfit? BUT whatever I want to do, the textures should also work in Bryce as this is the program I am used to, to make my final renders. Unfortunately many Daz Studio shaders (specially those that only shows up in DS only on rendering, i.e. DS fur shaders), do NOT work in Bryce I have noticed! I am still looking for Bryce fur materials but can't find any except some animal furs at ShareCG. Looking for normal colored furs with no animal motifs which will work in Bryce 7, if you perhaps know of any, please let me know!
The white jersey is the texture from Hexagon which showed up in DS. The black/white jersey is a Bryce mat which looks horrible on the clothing as the blocks are too big, etc. :smirk:
Any help is much appreciated! :-)

Did you add material zones? Is the shirt UV mapped?
Hi, not at all. I have done nothing of the sort, this is 'as is' straight from Hexagon. I have never add material zones or used uv mapping before. This is all new to me. :ohh: I have just learn to do the clothing part but for the rest I still have to start learn texturing, etc. I have downloaded the free uv mapper but have never used it. I also have somewhere "stitch witch" but have never used that either. If you can perhaps give me some kind of help on how to add material zones it will be much appreciated. In fact, my knowledge of Daz Studio overall is zero! I have only used it when I was adding pre-made clothing with already made textures by others on Genesis, but that is it! But I came to a point where I want to start learn my own clothing, etc. and hopefully when I succeed share the items. Thank you to Wilmap who told me about convert to SubD to give the clothing a smoother effect as it was full of bad spots at places. :-)
