Black Texture on Genesis 8 Female

For some reason when I edited the skin map (I just made it greyscale the same way as the other textures on my character) for my character's arm, it turned it completely black?  I've checked and it uses the same settings (aside from the texture maps themselves) as her legs, which are untouched. Any ideas?

    Ok couple of things to check:
    1. Select G8F in the scene tab and then go into the surface tab, select the leg or torso and then select the Diffuse map you changed to greyscale, in the list that pops up select the Image Editor (not the layered the regular one). In the window that pops up take note of the Gamma Setting it should be either 0 or 1. Now in the surface tab select the arms and check the Gamma setting in the Image Editor it should be the same as the leg or torso map you just checked. If it's not then this is most likely the cause of the issue.
    2. Another thing to do is to re-greyscale the arms map in case something went wrong in the conversion.
    3. The final thing I can think of is to do a copy/paste of the torso mat zone in the surface tab onto the arm mat zone and then swap the maps like you did with the legs to see if the issue persists
