Is this item needed to be able to use "GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2" ?

I ask because I am confused about what exactly is needed to use V4 and M4 with the Genesis 2 figures.

Any help on this would be very appreciated as I would like to take advantage of the great sale on now.

Thanks.

    Best answer is "maybe." To transfer M4 morphs to Genesis 2 Male, you need to have the M4 shape for Genesis 2 male. There are three ways to get it, as far as I know:
    * Buy the product you mentioned
    * Buy this: http://www.daz3d.com/generation-4-legacy-shapes-for-genesis-2-male
    * Or if you own (or purchase) V4 and M4 Shapes for Genesis, you can use GenX2 to transfer the M4 shape to G2M.

    Disclaimer: I just bought GenX2 today, so if anyone has more experience with it, feel free to correct me!

    You don't need to transfer M4 morphs to G2M or G2F, you can still use the morphs you've transferred, but you won't get the (approximately) same look.

    The G2M series has a very different mesh, so morphs aren't a direct 1 to 1 identical transfer. If you put the same morphs side by side (M4 & G2M) you can see the differences.

    So if you want to add versatility and options to G2M, you don't need the M4 clone. But if you want to replicate the same looks as M4, you do. Hope that makes sense.

    Just to add in a bit more information, Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male(s) will allow you to use Michael 4 clothing and skin textures on Genesis 2 Male, and will give you his basic shape for G2M, but will not include any special character morphs that many of the Michael 4 character products include. These would be done using GenX2. So, no you do not need Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male(s) to use GenX2, but at TimG said, if you want a (close to) exact copy of your Michael 4 character, you should consider getting the product and use it along with GenX2 to fully transfer morphs, textures, and clothing to Genesis 2 Male.

    I thought you meant morph, sorry.

    If you are a Studio user, you can use the map transfer tool to convert a V4 skin to the M5 UV, which is compatible with G2M.
