Poser object load - Butterfly

I'm trying to load the butterfly from here:

http://www.ageofarmour.com/3d/free/butterfly.php

into DAZ. I've copied the files to the DAZ library and the butterfly shows in the Poser Formats -> Figures, however when I click on the icon or choose Merge, I get two objects in the scene rather than one, none of them visible in the scene.
The .obj file is in the Geometries folder, the .cr2 in the Characters folder.

What could the issue be?

Thanks.

CR2 needs a bit of editing to fix what I'm assuming is an old "glitch" in Poser, as I don't remember seeing the root being called for geometry before.

What should I change in the cr2 file?..

...none of which is visible in the scene. In another thread I was told that this is caused by a problem in the .cr2 file that needs to be fixed manually, but not much else. Can anyone shed light on what needs to be done? Thanks.

What Poser object is this exactly, can you give a link?

Merged the new thread on the issue into this one.

It happened to some other Poser files as well but I managed to import those as .obj as they were simple props.
This one exports without parameters and the textures don't fit :(

When I try to load it I get the following errors in DS4.6

    Reading Butterfly.obj
PZ3Importer: Removing face group Rwing no associated node.
PZ3Importer: Removing face group Lwing no associated node.
PZ3Importer: Removing face group Ab2 no associated node.
PZ3Importer: Removing face group Ab1 no associated node.
PZ3Importer: Removing face group Head no associated node.
PZ3Importer: Removing face group Thorax no associated node.

I don't know if that will help anyone to advise you. AoA says on his website that he discontinued this model, and it was only tested on DS1.7/2.0, which is a long time ago.

I just tried this in DS3, and it loads OK there. I had to apply the textures myself, but it is easy enough to do. There must have been changes made to how DS reads some CR2 files between DS3 and DS4.6.

The problem is that the CR2 is badly coded.

First thing is to open your CR2 in a text editor that has line numbers (notepad++ etc), now the highlighted area in picture one is what you have in the CR2, picture two is how it should look.

After you fix that you then have a few small changes to make to the rest of the file

Line 482 you will find actor BODY, stick a :1 after BODY so the line reads actor BODY:1

Line 703 do the same thing and add a :1 after BODY so it reads parent BODY:1

Line 3754 we have another BODY to add a :1 to, and another BODY on line 3760 to add the :1 to.

save it and you should be good to go.

Thanks! I was disappointed that I could not get that particular item to work long ago, but now with these changes it is working.
