Daz Studio drop down menu "problem"?

Hello there folks,

I've got a curious problem that may or may not be a problem after all to do with the drop down menus

I have Daz Studio (now at 4.15) on two laptops, an older Windows 7 machine and a newer Windows 10 machine.

Each time I update Laptop7 (I'll call it that) the splash screen changes whilst the Laptop10 remains the same.

Now I have this curious problem.

On laptop7 the drop down edit menu offers lots under the "object" category, whilst laptop10 displays "change parent" as the only option - nothing else for the "object" category.

However laptop10 has a lot more in the "Create" drop down menu than laptop7.

Is there an issue here - I can find the missing object functions in the scene menu on a right click.

I have heard that different operating systems may produce altered styles.

Is there is a problem with laptop10 is there an easy way to fix the menus? It was doing this in 4.14 and I thought the update would fix the issue so I don't think an uninstall/reinstall will correct the issue. If one was to delete the appdata folder would it force Daz studio to reset itself to default?

Regards

Steve C

  • Are both running as Pro (with a serial number)? Have you tried reloading the layout, or just using Window>Workspace>Update and Merge Menus? What do you mean by the splash screen changing - it could indicate that the layout is "stale", in which case one of the steps above may also fix it, but the description isn't entirely clear.

Not tried reloading layout. Did not want to screw anything up lol!

By chance I found a forum entry from 2018 where someone had the same problem and the solution suggested was to reload the layout.

Saving the "faulty" layout and reloading worked!

Yo thank you so much, spent hours trying to figure out why I couldn't select anything and why viewport drop down menus weren't clickable but this solution worked. TYSM!
