Genesis 8.1 / Victoria 8.1

I just bought Victoria 8.1 but where do I find Genesis 8.1?

Am I missing something or is there just Victoria 8.1?

    Can I use Genesis 8 Female morphs on Genesis 8.1 Female?

    Can I use Genesis 8 Female skins on Genesis 8.1 Female?

    If not -- and I legitimately do not know, though it seems unlikely since the information is mostly talking about using Genesis 8 clothing and object, not skins or morphs, with the new system -- then calling it Genesis 8.1 is disingenuous. I realize the update doesn't look 'big' enough to justify calling it Genesis 9 but the reason we use new generations is to clearly underscore what will work with conversion vs. what won't work with conversion.

    In the meantime, until we hit a critical mass of 8.1 content that doesn't work with 8, I can't see investing in figures. I just have too much invested in Genesis 8.

    You can use Genesis 8 morphs on Genesis 8.1

    You can use Hair and clothes from Genesis 8 on Genesis 8.1 too.

    Only expressions I think, maybe hands, that you can not use from Genesis 8 on Genesis 8.1.

    I have a great number of GF8 morphs, but unsure how to access these for 8.1.  Of course, none of the 8.0 morphs showed up in 8.1 figure.  Any suggestions?

    Updated to 4.15 and got the Genesis 8.1 female model. Absolutely love the new face rigging and that all of the old morphs transfer over. My one issue is that the 8.1 lashes have no texture. They look like giant grey windshield wipers. There was no new skin maps for the base model either, as advertised. Does Victoria 8.1 have the same lashes issue? Perhaps it was an incomplete/corrupted install?

     

    edit: the lashes have texture when loaded in with the whole model, but not when brought in on their own.

    Victoria 8.1 loads with nice eyelashes. I have not yet loaded Genesis 8.1 so can not say.

    Can I assume that there will be 8.1 updates for Genesis 8.0 Male, Michael 8.0 and all other characters as well? Expense is an issue for some of us. And please tell me Genesis 9.0 won't be released on the tail of 8.1.

    I can almost guarantee there will be several 8.# series out as Daz implements new features they've been working tirelessly on, until we get to a full Gen 9 or Gen 10 release. I started working with Daz shortly after Gen 8's release, and 8.1 has already fixed some of my major complaints about the model limitations (and introduced a few new minor quarrels with this one). I really look forward to the next rollouts to see how they're dealing with my other body posing complaints.

    Can someone confirm?

    I am running Studio 4.12. I downloaded and installed - through DIM -  the new Genesis 8 Male and Female Starter Essentials files. 

    As noted, the Genesis 8.1 Basic Female figure now appears in my People/G8F folder. The new figures takes G8F hair and clothes and one can apply regular G8F skin shaders.

    However, none of the regular G8F and regular Victoria 8 characters are not available. I assume it is because:

    1. one needs to purchase the new 8.1 character?

    2. one needs to install Studio 4.15 beta or Pro?

    Can someone confirm or clarify?

    Yes, Genesis 8.1 uses features that are not present in DS 4.12.x.x
