Girls Dorm Room not usable with dForce

I ran into a problem with the new girls' dorm room. It has a 150 frames animation timeline attached to it which collapses the room. Even reinstalling doesn't fix that. This way it would be unusable for anything that relies on the timeline, including dForce.

  • Have you tried loading, selectign everything, and then Edit>Object>Clear Animation (and I can't recall the exact wording for the clear selected node(s) entry but it should be fairly obvious). Do please report this, though.

    Telsla3Dcorp again devil

you can also expand the new timeline and lasso the offending keyframes and delete them

selecting everything and using the Memorize feature before clearing the animation prevents all the pieces getting squished into the middle of the scene, too.

Hope that works, or it's going to be a return from me

And that's without considering that the room loads as Girls DOOR room... Once, I thought DAZ had good quality control *sigh*

That doesn't remove the animation. I tried all three options, no luck.

Really, why do items with such fundamental mistakes get into the shop?

     Maybe not enough employees-

So what could Daz corp do to remedy this situation? I'm sure all Daz employees are conscientious and hard-working. Is it a matter of having not enough of them to deal with all the issues that arise? That's my guess.

[Jack Tomalin] Yea, that's correct.. it's being addressed as fast as possible, but there is a lag between that and dealing with the backlog, plus new tickets that are coming in.

Jack's reply was specifically to do with outstanding tickets but lack of staff is probably an issue that affects quality control and other areas.

Which is all fine, and yes, understandable, but I'm having to protect my own time (and cash) expenditure, and dealing with this kind of issue, and waiting/hoping for a fix, does get to be too much hassle.

I'm afraid Daz is in the same boat as many other businesses with regard to staffing levels due to COVID. It's far from an ideal situation but life goes on.

This kind of thing was already an issue before covid, but that has made it worse. And, yes, life goes on, and I'll survive without this particular room in my runtime.

Indeed this Dorm Room loads with all items at 0,0,0 at frame 150. And in the proper room position at frame 0. And with 150 baked keyframes for that...

It sure is a weird decision especially since props at position 0,0,0 are provided in a separate content folder :/

But anyway YES it works "for me" or anyone : delete all keyframes but the first one for all objects (using keyMate helps for that) and you're good to go.

DAZ has released an update on 2021-05-31 that should have fixed the issue. At least it did for me.
