Mac duo better than one

Alas, no Mac M1 support for now, but I couldn't wait and I got a new Mac mini M1.  Since my old Mac mini was working just fine, I have relegated it to Daz3D support since every other program I use is either native or works under emulation.  Sure, the old beastie is not fast, but it's fast enough for hobby uses.  To my great suprise, after doing a screen share from the old to new, DAZ comes up just fine as a shared window on my Mac mini M1.  Daz is happily grinding away with renders on the Intel Mac as I continue along with blazing speed on my M1 Mac.  Something for Mac users to consider as we wait.

Congratulations on the new M1 Mac mini, TBorNot!!  I have just this minute returned from the Jacksonville, Florida Apple Store with a 13" MacBook Air M1/16 GB/1 TB model.  I'm about to take it out of the box and start setting it up.  A couple of months ago I picked up a 16" MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz i9/32 GB/2 TB/AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8GB.  It's been my DAZ machine instead of my 2015 Mac mini.  And runs so much faster on the 8 core i9 than the dual core i5. :)

I'm looking forward to getting the Big Sur/Apple Silicon version of DAZ software later this year to run on the new MacBook Air.  In the meantime, I'll see if Poser 11.3 runs on the M1.  I think I'm going to set up the MacBook Air from scratch instead of a Time Machine migration.  I'll be using the MBA for Garageband, iMovie/Motion, Numbers, Pages, and a little Poser, amongst other things.

My other choice was actually the M1 Mac mini, but they didn't have any in stock with the configuration I want, and the wait times for a configure to order system were too long for me. :)

I'll likely replace my current Mac mini with whatever desktop is next to get the Apple Silicon treatment.  Hopefully it will be an iMac as my current 10+ year old iMac is barely limping along.

Again, congratulations on your new purchase!!!  So glad you have it!

    Lee
