Hey,
Is it possible to add an image as an overlay to a render?
With the Edit>Backdrop function you can add an image to the background that maintains position and scale. But this picture is always behind the 3D content. This is nice, but not quite what I'm looking for.
I'm interested in the same feature, with the image always being on top.
Is this possible?
I know you can do this in Photoshop or other programs, but having this feature available in DAZ3D would be way more efficient.
Thanks in advance!

I don't think it's currently possible in Studio (4.6.3.53 at the time of this post), you would need some other app to stitch the layers (photoshop, gimp, etc.)
It does seem like a good option and you should probably request it with the zen helpdesk. If you do an opacity slider would be a nice feature to layer some atmosphere on distance shots (my $0.02)

It can be done using an Imager brick in Shader Mixer, though it's not something I've tried.very seriously.
The easiest way would be to add a new plane in front of the camera and add the picture there. Of course there has to be some transparency or the scene behind wouldn't be seen. It all depends on what you want to have on that foreground picture.
Thanks everyone for your reply!
Adding a plane in front of the camera, will restrict me in moving the camera around and readjusting any framing. It would mean I would need to move the plane as well. If there is a way to simplify this it would be a proper option or else it sounds like a lot of trouble.
So it sounds like I'm bound to applying things afterwards in a different program.
Thanks though.
Parent the plane to the camera once it's in the right relative position. It will (should!) then move as you reposition the camera.
