[RESOLU] Parameter: Opacity Strength
![Fuerchan](https://farnsworth-prod.uc.r.appspot.com/forums/uploads/userpics/891/nZ55AFALB3I5Q.jpg)
Hi,
I use the "Opacity Strength" parameter to apply a white texture with black to make holes on the clothes ... But when I apply this texture clothing becomes slightly transparent, like a veil.
How to keep the opaque clothing and have holes only for the black areas?
Thank you.

Is this in renders or only in previews? The preview isn't accurate in this respect.
Are you sure the black and white are pure black and white? If the colours are only nearly black or white, it won't give the effect you want.
Never save an opacity map as a jpeg as the artifacting can shift the tonal values, instead use png or tiff formats.
White: #ffffff
Black: # 000000
Png or tiff the problem remains. Even with the render.
Thank you.

Could, you post a render, along with the settings for the surface.
Hi,
Here are some screenshots of the problem in the view "Actors, Wardrobe & Props" and "Render".
Thank you

Um... which one is the render again? Those both look like viewport images. Remember, the viewport will not accurately render opacity. Changing the TAB does not change the fact that you haven't rendered the image.
Click the camera icon on the toolbar to begin rendering the image. It will open up another window which will show you the end result and allow you to save the image if you need.
As shown in the images:
The first image is a screen capture of the work area.
The second image is a screen capture rendering.
Thank you

as Richard asked can you post a sceencap of the surface settings and also might be a good idea to post a copy of your Opacity map. That should help us narrow down the issue. Without these it is hard to advise.
What is meant is not to post a screen capture of the Rendering workspace, but rather doing an actual render in 3Delight mode (not OpenGL). The grid shouldn't be visible in the actual render for example.
Ah, yes, sorry I did not understand like that. Actually when rendering executed, the problem disappears.
Thank you for your patience;-)
