how to tell the size of objects in daz?
how do I see how big something is before and/or after I import it? For example I have purchased a trees pack. but I have to import and place the trees next to a human character each time to see how big the tree is compared to the person. In other 3d apps you can typically see in the asset description how big something is before you import it.
and for that matter how do you see how big anything is in daz? I cant see anything under parameters. I'm guessing its probably there but I just cant find it.
Basically every time I want to know how big something is I place a person next to it to get an idea. Seems a bit clumsy. I work in e-on software's vue sometimes and in there everything you click on shows information in a properties panel showing size etc
cheers

There is this in the Sore : http://www.daz3d.com/measure-metrics-for-daz-studio
And there is this by Casual : https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts4/mcjsizer
There used to be a script for DS called 'SizeOf', I have it, but I don't think you can still get it, it was on the old forum.
thanks for reply. just saw Measure Metrics for DAZ Studio in the store but I get the impression its only for characters. I need it for inanimate objects etc trees, furniture etc
Then the script by mCasual is the one you want, and it's free too!
It measures in inches and centimetres too, very useful for large items.
Measure Metrics is not specific to any one kind of object. Promotional material is slanted toward human figures to fit the market slant toward human figures. The tool itself is general purpose; providing a means of measuring with a Tape Measure, Tailor Tape or Protractor. It doesn't even need objects with geometry, it will measure the distance and/or angle between imaginary points (i.e. Nulls) in the scene as easily as it will any other object.
