Genesis Default Shader for Genesis 2

I'm looking for a certain preset for Genesis 2 that makes the applied figure look like the original Genesis's default clay-like shading. I remember once seeing it at ShareCG but I can't seem to find it anymore since I reset my 3rd party content collection. Does anyone have the freebie they are willing to share or can someone quickly recreate one? I would very much appreciate it.

Genesis just uses the DAZ Studio Default shader which you can find in My DAZ 3D Library > Shader Presets > DS Defaults

Just select grey-shadered from the viewing options.

Load Gen1 and Gen2, select on of Gen1's matzones, right click it in the surface tab and chose copy. Select all of Gen2's material zones, make sure Gen2 is also selected in the scene tab. Double click the Dz Default shader JimmyC mentioned, then right click and paste the grey shader to Gen2.

Select one of Gen1's surfaces, go to file -> save as -> shader preset, put it somewhere in your library.. shader presets/gen1? would be a good place. Then select all of Gen2's matzones and apply your new shader.

Is this what you are looking for? Not exactly Genesis 1 texture for Genesis 2; but it looks like it might be able to achieve a "clay-like appearance".

I think everyone misunderstood what I'm asking for. It looks like I wasn't clear enough, my apologies.

What I'm trying to do is make G2F & G2M surfacing look exactly like G1 when you load a fresh figure into a scene; that default gray, textureless mildly specular state. What I'm asking for is an efficient to get the G2 figures to look like that. I've tried to do it manually, only to find it tedious and not looking right. I remember that I once had a 3rd party preset that effortlessly achieved this called something like "Genesis Default Shader for Genesis 2". However, I recently transfered of all my 3D content unto an alternate hard drive, which for some reason rendered all my content directories for DAZ Studio corrupt. So, after a pursuit for a recollection at Rendo and ShareCG, I noticed that some items over on the ShareCG side of the hunt down are no longer in the search lists.

I tried everyone's suggestions so far, but none of them are providing the result I seek. Simply viewing the scene under the Smooth Shaded DrawStyle doesn't provide that G1 Default look for G2 figures and applying the DAZ Default Shader doesn't seem to undo anything on them.

    There you go :)

I actually made the set long ago, I find it useful for seeing the detail of the figure while shaping it up. With textures its hard to see the detail. This matches Genesis 1 default loaded figure. I also included reset grey materials for the respective figures genitals and reset poses for both Genesis 2 Figures since most pose sets these days neglect to include reset pose.

Both of Fisty's solutions definitely work here.

And that's exactly what I gave you two options for achieving.

Okay, for some reason, something wasn't working right and I had to re-install DS and all three Starter Essentials. Fisty's method is working for me now.

And Spyro, that product looks awesome! Thank you very much for sharing it! :cheese:

Easiest way I think is People/Genesis/Materials/
You will find the gray material there and a double-click will apply it to the Genesis2 figure.

Hah... That actually DOES prove to be more efficient... I've actually never even noticed that option n Genesis' materials before (maybe that's because I never use any of the default textures). :)

Still, I like Spyro's product where ihis actually come with the matching presets for the genitals.

Yours are definitely better than mine, and yours includes the gens (except I only did G2F, V4, and M4- G2M wasn't out yet). Nice job with those.

Thanks Vaskania, please know I didn't wish to intrude on what you had released, more offer an expansion on the idea :) As I was Packaging them for ShareCG I came across yours and really hesitated to submit
