It states in the description that it's for Daz Studio only. In fact, it goes a step beyond since it's old Daz and not the new DUF format. Unfortunately, while some may be able to convert it to Poser no one would be allowed to give you the resulting file as that would be breaching the EULA.

In this instance, you're probably better off contacting Daz 3D about a refund.

Just a quick note

The only person who could legally convert this to poser for you is the vendor.

Yep, the product page certainly lists Poser there - however the .ZIP file contains only .dso files, no .obj's.

Do you not have that DSON importer thingy for Poser?

I _believe_ you can use it to import the DSO files... hmmmmm... trying to find a manual or thread for you, not having much luck. Note, it is quite possible I'm wrong in this regard - I don't have a recent Poser to test with <(^_^) - hopefully somebody who regularly hops "between worlds" might be able to jump in and guide you.

I don't suppose you have an installation of DAZ Studio there as well? ... you could load the Temple, then export it directly as a .OBJ file. I'm guessing you don't really care about preserving the DS materials (using your own Poser mats).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the DSON importer only actually works with DSON files (ie, DUF). However, as MFM pointed out, if you install Daz Studio you can easily export it either as a Poser compatible format for use in Poser renders.

Yes, I'm getting that impression, Herald. The only thing the Temple product provides is a .daz file (which then calls up the .dso's)... I'm guessing that can't be pushed through the DSON importer directly.

Ergo, depending on what Isikol has installed - I can confirm it really is a 30 second process to get the Temple read into DS and exported as a OBJ and then imported back into Poser (below in 2010... which unfortunately I don't have a version of the DSON Importer for, so I can't test directly >_<).

EDIT: oh, hang on, I CAN run the 32-bit DSON Importer in PoserPro-2010... trying now...

EDITx2: blah >_<... python incompatibilities... so, no I can't help directly with the DSON Importer Isikol - please ignore what I said above. The path of least resistance (imho, and assuming you have a DS installation lying about) will definitely be Export .OBJ / Import. I can screenshot/walk you through that process if you need -- or, if you don't have the time to fiddle with a DS download and install, then I guess the temple won't be appropriate for your current project v(^_^)v.

If you can export the model to OBJ, why would you need the DSON importer? Just import the OBJ itself.

Dimension 3D's DSF Toolbox

http://www.daz3d.com/dimension3d/dsf-toolbox

Does file conversion for older DS formats. You might want to take a look at it.

Step1
select the prop or figure you want to convert, and from the menu chose "Create Poser Comp Files"
Step2
Fill the Box out like so see screenshot

Now this could dump it in a few places so pay attention to the paths you set.
So if it goes under say Poser character library the look for the DSON Conversions folder it should be under there.
Or if you chose props look for the DSON Conversions folder there.

Hold it you may have to save it as a DUF file first or it won't work !
if that's the case do this first as Figure/Prop Assests see screenshot.
save in the same dir and fill out box

It's 2am here I'm just off to bed I'm sure some of the other guys will be able to talk you through. But you have to at least save it in the new format or there's no chance. I'll check in tomorrow to see how you went. If worse comes to worse I'll do a Utube video.
Cheers.
PS I udated the last post !

No that's not correct. It opens just fine in DS-4.6. The main loader file is in the old binary format that DS used to use (before everything went DUFfy and DSFfy) -- roughly equivalent to the old Word ".doc" format, before everything went ".docx".

but thank you so much for the detailed explanation!!!i really appreciate it!

It's under "Props" in your "DAZ Studio Formats" folder (ie it does NOT appear under the Poser Formats folder tree). Remember, you'll need to have both "DAZ Studio formats" as well as the "Poser formats" folders mapped in the Content Directory Manager. Here is the process I used:

(1) installed it via DIM;

(2) right-click on it in the Installed tab in DIM, to check the "Show Included Files" -- this showed me that the main loader file was installed under "/Props/Temple of Mars/Temple of Mars.daz" -- under the "/Runtime/" folder there were only textures. This is reasonable, given that the file will not be loaded directly under Poser;

(3) loaded it in DS-4.6. Note that the file is found under the "DAZ Studio Formats" section, NOT the "Poser Formats" section, under a "Props" folder;

(4) select item in the scene, File -> Export..., Save as Type "Wavefront Object (*.obj)"... just used the default export options, ensuring the "To:" is set to Poser (because that will affect the visible size when loaded). The one thing that could be adjusted for convenience on the screenshot is to change "Original Maps" to "Collect Maps". That will make a copy of all the associated textures into a folder right beside the generated .OBJ (instead of the way it is at the moment, which uses the original textures - that Poser doesn't find by default).

(5) in Poser, File -> Import -> Wavefront .OBJ, ... again, default import options (although you're probably better at this section), select exported file, and voila! \(^_^)/
