CTRL-F Center on node - how to set distance
I can orbit around a node by focusing it with CTR-F, fine. Sometimes, whatever I do, the distance to that focus point is too far, sometimes it's just right.
What defines the standard distance?
When I scroll closer, hit "focus" again, I get thrown back. The standard focus distance varies each szenario.

This seems to happen if the item is far from the origin and the camera is not looking towards the origin - after the first frame attempt try orbiting the object so you are looking towards the centre of the DS universe and hit ctrl F a second time.
Well... so I have to create an object (default at center, I don't know how to tell where's the center while I am lost in my little univers), choose my main object, rotate till both are in congruence / conjunction and then CTRL F? It works, yes, thanks! But it's a strange way to reset.
No need for an extra object, just rotate around the target until you can see the grid (which covers only limited area) or the view cube indicates you should be looking towards the centre (if you know which way you have moved away) and hit the frame button again.
Well, I noticed an interesting behaviour. When I choose the Surfaces tool the view is out of range... when I choose the "standard" ones (node selection, universal etc.) and type CTRl-f the view is as it should.
