I can definitely understand your reasons until the plugin is in a state that you don't run into these problems here is a solution for now.
1.1 Packaged for support for R23

and original release is here.

Same as them; the recent updates just don't seem to work. I've tried installing them manually, through the Install Manager, and so on but they never show up in D|S itself. I've reinstalled D|S several times, nadda. The only way I can access the script period is through running it manually, and it doesn't export any Morphs or have the nice new Joint Alignment fixes but at least I can use it.
First link is broken, seems an extra character got added onto it

Hi there, i'm trying to use the C4D bridge, but i can't find the 'scripts' menu option? That's where according the tutorials the option should be to export to c4d..
in file>send to there is also no c4d option or anything...
anyone knows whats up?
One page prior I had this temporary workaround:
Just gotta deal with that or revert to an older version while the team chips away at the C4D version. I check in once or twice a week to see if any progress has been made, but mostly just stick to what I get already and manually re-assemble things myself. It's not ideal, it's tedious, but it's the best I can do right now. But, it works at least.
Off-note, but why doesn't the forum allow you to Copy-Paste stuff from your own posts? I open up my quote, copy it, and start a new quote... Nothing. Had to bring it into Notepad THEN paste it in from there for the forum to finally let me go through with it :/
I've never had that problem before, but then, the site seems to be acting a bit strangely this morning.
Hey! The new Daz Beta works on my Mac Pro with Big Sur! I tried the bridge plugin, and it was still hanging for a long time on import. It was late, so I thought "I will just let it go".. got up this morning and the figure had imported! I have no idea how long it took, but I'd have to say hours. Then I converted materials. That was quick and easy. The I hit Auto-IK, and it was hanging for a long time again.
My figure had hair, and I know I've had issues with complex hair slowing things down before. I thought I'd start over and try the figure without hair. Once again, import is taking a long time. Ive let it go for about an hour so far. So - maybe the plugin works, but is just incredibly slow for me? I wonder if any more updates are in the works.. it's been over 2 months now with no updates.
Did you submit a ticket on it already? If not please do so and the steps you took. Make it as detailed as possible so they can try and recreate it.
Now that the new Mac version is officially out there, will you be testing the latest bridge plugin with it? ...because it's not working. Is it working for anyone on a Mac with Big Sur?
Hi I would really appreciate ability to use the bridge WITHOUT any IK or Skeleton as they cannot be later deleted in any way in C4D.
Since OBJ doesn't collect mat data, FBX twists and deforms the mesh, the Plug-in seem to be a nice and care free way to throw models and data into C4D
Hi Sam and Rob,
Thanks for your work on the DazToC4D bridge. Being able to import the rig and some morphs is a huge help in bringing my characters to C4D.
It appears that a couple of the JCM pose morphs break the import. It took a bit of trial and error, but when I exclude the problematic morphs, the character imports just fine.
Here's what doesn't work:
* Neck bend
* Knee up
* Elbow bend (can't even find these in the arm pose list, but also the JCM preset for Arms doesn't work)
When I try importing a character with these pose morphs, I get the following error in console: (See attached image)
This is with the latest bridge and the correct C4D version. I'm using the Genesis 8.1 base model with no modifications.
Just started using C4D and i've installed the Daz to C4D bridge. However it doesn't show up in C4D - in the Extension tab. I can see that it has installed in the correct directory of C4D. I'm using latest build of C4D, R25 in Windows.
Look for a separate Daz3D menu in C4D.
Please help. How could I manually install DAZ bridge for C4D? I did it from Daz install manager. It appears in DAZ scripts menu, but C4D (r22) doesn't show it in "Extensions". I tried to add path in plugin menu (in C4D( in preferenses, but it doesn't work. I found Daz bridge downloaded folder with "DazToC4D.pyp" file and two folders inside - "lib" and "res". Can I place it somewhere manually? Mac OS Monterey, M1.
Help.. posemorph nothing on R23
Just bought the Auto Face Enhancer and i really enjoy the details i can put into the face. the Poses for this plug in are good but i like the base poses mixed with the wrinkles of this plug in more. The base morphs work in Daz while the AFE plug in is active but doesnt import into c4D correctly. has anyone had any trouble with this?
Daz to Cinema 4d script not showing after installation
Hi
Weird problem with FBX vs Bridge exports, hoping someone can clue me in.
I have come back to this after some time and updated the bridge and Daz, latest versions as of today.
Now usually in C4D if I have two FBX rigs of the same kind, say, two Gen8s exported from Daz as FBX, one posed and one unposed... in C4D I can use the retarget tag to match one to the other. That is, I can tell the tag to use the posed as source, and the unposed as the target, and viola, my unposed FBX character export is now posed in C4D. This is useful because I can export the character as T (for reasons) then match to any exported FBX posed humanoid from Daz. Or I can export a high SubD character and then export 20 low-res poses/rigs to copy from.
But if I export a character via bridge, say in T pose, then try to retarget this to a pose from one of these FBXs (fbx is coming straight out of Daz, mind you), it messes up real bad. The skin distorts and wobbles and bends away from the bones. I've tested this literally opening up Gen8 female base, export as FBX, export via Bridge, bring both into a C4D scene, retarget on the bridge (with JCMs, looks better) with source as the FBX export and target as the bridge export with JCMs. What I expect to see is a nicely posed model with JCMs working. What I get is a mess.
Just curious why this would be? It looks like the same rig. It SHOULD be the same rig, via FBX or via bridge, right? Or is it not?
Example screenshot attached. Bridged export on right, which should match the FBX on the left. Skin goes mental.
Thanks
You know what would also be great?
If we could export the character via bridge to C4D
Apply the IK rig to it (with the Daz dialog box, auto rig)
And then re-apply the pose it came in with.
Again the point of this is to have a character with nice JCMs, rigged, with the Daz pose (which are all mostly very good poses) ready for us to... give life to it.
Bueller
Any news on when we can export poses from Daz to C4D, and possible also have the IK rig match the DAZ pose??
This is 100% needed. To be able to leverage the amazing poses of Daz but then take them the next step...
Hoping for an update on this, alas the thread seems dead.
I'm having trouble with the new June 2022 version of DAZ to C4D Bridge. I followed all the new install instructions, but after installing it then un-installing it and then re-installing in many times it still doesn't work. I tried it with C4D R25.117 and C4D R22. Using the latest version of DAZ 4.20. I had an older version of the Daz to C4D Bridge installed previously that had been working.
If you are only installing from DIM or Daz Central, then you should try downloading and installing the latest bugfix on github: https://github.com/daz3d/DazToC4D/releases. There are a number of bugfixes that have not yet been pushed to DIM / Daz Central. If you are still having problems, please give us some more detailed information about the exact steps you took and what parts did not work. Please include the exact version of the bridge you are using and any screenshots of error messages or missing options. I am in the process of creating some more videos with how to manually install from Github.
Hi. My eyelash isn't following the eyelid after I use daz to C4D. Its almost like the weighting is only half of what its supposed to be. The eyelash follows the edge of the eyelid fine in daz. And the default Genesis 8.1 female eyelash works after using Daz to C4D. But this particular set that I purchased isn't working. Attaching a picture.
I am noticing in the latest release that all of the materials are coming in as node materials now. Is there any way to make it so that the plugin generates standard materials instead?
I just noticed this is happening in C4D 2023, but not R26.
and NOW I realized it was my FBX import preferences in 2023 that were set, by default, to import materials as node materials. :)
Hello there, recently I just use daztoc4d bridge script to convert daz charactor to c4d and because I am using redshift renderer so I need to convert all the materials to redshift materials. And it was at that time I find out the script doens't work, it gave no reacton once I press the convert button. I had no idea totally since I can't find any log report or something else that could help me figure out what had happened since I press that button.
Btw, the env I was using are as follows:
Daz Version: 4.15
Daz to C4D Bridge Version: 2022.1
C4D Version: R21.207
Redshift Version: 3.15.10
Not sure if anyone's here to see these reports anymore, but on the off-chance someone is or yet another new team comes in...
"Import Failed" on almost every model once again, with Morphs not loading in. Cinema 4D R23, D|S 4.21.
Plugin/Bridge abandoned again? :(
