    Sorry.. :red: :red: :red:

I'm saving the alcoholic ginger beer for tomorrow.. I've never had it before.

I should restart my beer blog, I swear. I could find microbrews in a dark cave, I swear.. :blank:

...going to the pub doesn't sound like that bad an Idea right now. Unfortunately they don't open until 15:30 (about an hour & fifteen)

Winds are picking up and lights have started flickering. Hearing rubbish bins and other items being blown around outside.

Pulled up the weather site and a high wind warning has been issued for the valleys and city with gusts of 50 - 60 mph possible until 19:00 local time.

Just shut down the workstation, no more scene work or rendering until this blows through.

Already reports of downed power lines and wind damage on the west side. Highest winds expected between now and 17:00 so could really start "rocking" (not in the way I'd like mind you) in about an hour.

still looking for a decent computer for $600 that can run Daz Studio 4, Luxus and Poser 9. I'll continue to conversation in the new complaint thread or my own thread.

just noticed that most new computers don't have the white PCI slots that were invented in the mid 1990s. Hopefully the onboard sound chip on the new computer will be decent unlike the cheap one I got. Youtube videos sound tinny. Other music and videos sound ok. The same videos sound ok on another computer.

...winds now impacting our tram system. Reports of three lines disrupted by fallen trees. In on part of town (near where I live) a fallen tree limb took out the overhead catenary lines.

Still haven't seen the incredibly strong gusts here in my neighbourhood but according to the wind forecast map the worst is still on the way.

On the College football scene: Wisky crushed Maryland 52 - 7, Illinois squeaked by Minnesota 28 - 24 (Good for Wisconsin), #1 Mississippi State had their hands full with Kentucky with the score 38 - 31 late in the 4th when the MSU Bulldogs scored a TD on a kick return to hold off the Wildcats 45 -31.

My Stevens Point Pointers bounced back from their first loss of the season last week to UW Platteville by defeating UW LaCosse 24 - 17.

Blowout of the day: TCU Hornytoads rolled over Texas Tech 82 - 27.

Pulling for LSU to beat Ol' Miss as that will help Wisconsin as well.

OK back to the regularly scheduled thread.

Took Thursday and Friday off from work and from thread, so only briefly skimmed the last several pages. I'll be praying that KK gets the job, glad that Wooly's coffee maker came in, Glad Gecko's sister is alright (and yes, Dish suck as my Father found out when he moved to his new house- he dumped them after they throttled his net access) Hope Kuley's shoulder gets better soon.

Last night, Fiance took me to the Lexington for their Haunted Tour:

    http://usslexington.com/haunting-on-the-blue-ghost/

And it was creepy! I went in, fully expecting costume people jumping out at me and stuff but what I didn't count on was navigating the maze with strobe lights and trying to step through bulkhead doors, amongst all the banging of metal. At one point, the floor would rock while walking and that freaked me out more than anything. I had my hands on Fiance's shoulder and back cause I was having trouble seeing with the strobe lights.

At some point, I want to take the real tour of the Lex - it's been a decade since I last went, but I think I will wait a bit

aww... I miss the Lady Lex!!

grew up (off and on) in Pensacola, FL (her homeport for decades - she was the Navy's training carrier) and I think something kinda died in my when the Navy took her away... I remember walking on her deck and touring her (though she was still in active service then) in high school.

I always thought it was kinda humorous that the Navy had pilots do their FIRST carrier landing and training on the shortest carrier deck in service!! I remember one pilot I knew saying something to the effect of, "Yes; once you can land on the Lady Lex in a storm, you can land *anywhere* under *any* conditions!" - which I think was the Navy's intent.

... it is continually amazing to me how incredibly good certain music/artists can be. Not just the skill or talent (not that certain individuals are not amazing in their own rights) of an individual or group, but when all the things 'hit' or come together in the right way... and creates something truly timeless.

Dug out some of my Pink Floyd albums... and they can still emote and carry me away after all these decades (and changes in life).

There were and are some awe inspiring musicians out there... and those that may be considered 'better' (talent or skill or whatever opinion you want), but I think Pink Floyd is the best at putting an *album* together - everything works, builds, moves as one entity with its own identity. And they did it repeatedly (which is why I say they are the best), not just with one or two albums. I can't think of another artist, composer, or group that was able to do that with the same consistency even spanning genres and time (I mean, I love classical and you can't really contest the legendary status of those men - but none of them were even as consistently good/awesome as Pink Floyd).

Or I guess it could be the codine I am taking for my shoulder! (not really, I haven't had to take any yet today, but was too funny not to say)

Boston, more than a feeling, still makes me cosmically drift

    yep!

And Golden Earring's Radar Love still *seriously* impairs my ability to obey (or even notice) speed limits!

Oh, btw all - sorry I am so erratic about posting; my shoulder is still giving me fits and I am spending little time on the computer. Typing and even mousing use the muscles a LOT more than one would realize!!

also the reason my disappearance into Skyrim did not, in fact, occur.
