A man who provided a ray of light in a dark time. "Please remember," he said repeatedly, "tomorrow will be a good day."

He certainly inspired a lot of people. £32 million raised in just a few weeks!
I cried when I saw the news. SO much heart. And his attitude! Heaven sure got an angel.

..I saw the story when he finished his 100th Birthday Walk. When I saw he passed on yesterday I was saddend.
Such a shame, but boy did he go out on a high after such a long and eventful life. Such an inspiration. My condolences to his proud family. RIP Captain Tom.
RIP Captain, you were a truly inspiring person.
Props to the BBC for an incredibly well done biography; he was an inspiration to others throughout his life, and I was only aware of this last year's accomplishments previously.
A man who definitely deserved to be called Sir. What a sad day, may he RIP.

I had never heard of him, but looked him up due to this thread. What an impreesive individual who lived a long and full life, RIP Sir!
