Is there a "Bridge" for Carrara, the way there is for Blender?

Just occured to me. I know there can be problems sometimes getting things into Blender from DS.

Is a bridge for this in the works?

  • Carrara will load D|S scenes if they don't contain incompatible stuff that crashes it like Genesis 3 and 8 as is.

Using Misty's fixed presets and clothing etc converted to Blended Weight I load stuff saved as D|S subsets all the time

so really no bridge needed, just DAZ decided to add Dual Quaternion and node names with creative spelling to G3&8, stuff below like Genesis 2 you can just load DAZ duf scenes out the box

  • Thanks, Wendy. That is a great help to me. What are the fixed presets by Misty you refer to? Any link?

But still a transparent bridge to Carrara would be great! And support an in-house program.

  • Yes, PhilW, agreed. And again thanks, Wendy.

My focus is on making images, and the techinical part is often a struggle for me.

You can add your Daz Studio library to the Carrara content browser and load stuff straight from the library into Carrara.

Carrara used to be able to read Daz Studio custom categories but that stopped when Studio switched to the current CMS. It would be nice if that was fixed but I don't know if anyone is still working on Carrara now.

it would be nice to link my carrara library the way a poser library can be linked in Daz Studio.

then i could use carrara rigged swivel chairs, doors, windows, toilet seats in daz studio, no fuss.

And the iray opacity doesnt work in carrara, have to convert to dzdefault and manually load alpha masks.

also would be nice if newer poser stuff worked in DS and Carrara.  Poser 8 and above joint campsules and poser weight maps don't work in daz studio or carrara.  and poser uses a different pbr shader system, i think its called cycles.

cant simply buy content any more, everything needs to be researched first.
