Antique: Skimpy Wire Armor Search

OK folks, I do NOT have any names, but I am trying to find old armor/clothing like thisinn the pic.. I believe V4 was the figure that most of these items were made for back in the day. Skimpy wire with/without jewels, panty bra fantasy outfits. There are also ones with the wire like  heead, arm and leg jewelry/armor too. Even if nobody has them but knows the names, that would be a great help too. I had them 20 years ago but, all lost or destroyed now

  • I would guess it is by Aery Soul, Aeon Soul, Awful Soul, AlfaseeD or whatever else AS has called themselvescheeky

Yeah. That's the Classic Fantasy set for V4. Won't find it legally available anywhere these days. But if you actually bought it, it might be in your purchase history somewhere. Unfortuantely, AS had stores in a lot of markets. Here, Rendo, and RDNA that I know of. Possibly others.

And, "Classic Fantasy" has been used for other artist's product lines as well, so there might be multiples which aren't that one.

Note: It's in my purchase history on Rendo. That would be a good place to start.

The closest by the same vendor, for G8F, would be Exquisite Ornaments.

I *think*, though I'm not certain, that the last place that Classic Fantasy was available from was RDNA, which was bought out by Daz, so if you bought it from RDNA, it should be in your product library here.

This set is almost certainly Classic Fantasy by Aery Soul/Alfaseed. The top may have been kit-bashed with another set, which might have been the Body Jewels from the same PA. Both of these are no longer sold. The links have galleries.

I bought it when AS had a big close out sale on old products at RDNA several months before the merger happened, so It definitely would not be available here (at theast from the merger).

Agreed, it comes pretty close for a fun fantasy outfit (see below) but Classic Fantasy was .... well .... a clissic!!

  • If it was indeed available at Rendo you might want to try googling the name of the item + Renderosity to see if you can find its original listing. If I recall correctly, Rendo staff will ping the artist to see if they want to sell the discontinued item. I had something like that once.

  • I can try that. Thank you.

I bought mine at RDNA, luckily I downloaded and backed up the product file before Daz took over RDNA.  I dug it up, converted it using RSSY Clothing converter and put it on G8.1F.  Here is a WIP.  I probably should try converting some of the other older As Shamim, Aerysoul, Alfaseed, Aeonsoul stuff.

    Classic Fantasy

A-S had a website with links and freebie's

Have to now use the Wayback machine  to get there but many of the Freebie links still works

its fun to search and see what you can find... ( classic fantasy was not a freebie though lol )

yeah, I wish i had picked up classic fantasy and black lotus back in the V4 days. back then I didn;'t know about their habit of retiring products, which is why I don't usually purchase from AS now.

  • AS is on Deviant Art - if you really want a past outfit, it is worth asking them about it :-)

  • dang, that is a really nice costume, what a shame.

I wonder why Daz remove stuff like this?

maybe AS might consider re-releasing an updated version for G8F, assuming it wasn't removed because it was too skimpy or something silly like that.

  • DAZ never hosted it and AS tend to have limited runs on their products.

  • Even if AS has limited runs, I can't see a vendor turning down a sale, or several sales from what some are saying here, what harm is there in contacting them and asking if they will sell it. The worse that can happen is they say no.

Luckily I have a number of their sets, for V3 and V4, been trying to work on making them fit any of the Genesis series, have had good luck with G2F for fitting a V3 outfit.

Yes, they tend to pull their products off the market after the get several years old. Some where years ago they explained that they pulled products when the felt the quality was no longer representative of the newer work. I can understand that, I often cringe when I look at some of my older professional work. As a result, I try to get any of their products that I really like when I can. I held off buying any of their products until the big clearance sale at RDNA because they were always quite a bit more than "similar" products, and I wasn't sure I would actually use them. I found out that their products are so well made and versatile that I use them a lot. Now I buy the products I really like when I can, because I know I will use them, and they will be usable for years due to the quality and details.

I do wish they would re-make some of their older products for Genesis 8, I couldn't get all of them I wanted on the close out, and I'm sure an updated version of Classic Fantasy would be worth buying too, even though I've converted the old V4 version to G8F.

Of all the creators in Daz3d, they seem least likely to have kept old products (and the emotional baggage associated with it).  I have have a few pleasant conversations with them and would not hold my breath awaiting new versions of products for later generations. If you can take no for answer and can ask gently and kindly, I suspect that they would be glad to give a reply as they have to others in the past.  They currently have a very limited presence at DeviantArt.  As to "Even if AS has limited runs, I can't see a vendor turning down a sale, or several sales from what some are saying here, what harm is there in contacting them and asking if they will sell it. The worse that can happen is they say no.",  there are a few things I have cooked or done and will never do again. As a general rule, artists do the best not to go backwards if they have the choice of selling something that they have no interest in selling anymore or making and trying to sell new product that inspires them.  I also learned that it isn't uncommon for artists here not to keep copies of their early work.
