Only one session/instance of Daz Studio can be opened now?  WTH?

Not only can I not open a different instance and work on it while one is rendering, I have to wait for a scene to unspool from memory before a different sesion can be opened.

If I have a large scene .. forget about it.

Hope someone can tell me I'm missing something somewhere.

    You are missing something somewhere.

    You can run multiple instances of the same version of DS, but each has to be given a unique name in order to avoid conflicts (running multiple instances the old way did cause issues). You can use a command line or shortcut to launch a new instance, with various options controlling how it picks up settings from other instances. There is a script here Daz Studio Pro 4.12 - instances  which can be used to launch a new instance or, planning ahead, to set up the command line options for use in a shortcut/alias in case you want to launch a new instance while DS is busy or closing.
