Can I use Genesis products in Poser. . .

that lack the DSON core installer? If so how?
I have several older items and there are some goodies on sale now that are lacking DSON.

    Just to be clear, the DSON Core fiels are the DAZ Studio files which the DSON Importer for Poser can load given Poser Companion Files or using Dimension3D's script to launch the importer from a file browser. If an item is not in DSON format then no, it can't be imported with the DSON Importer.

    I understood this. My question is can this item (for instance) Purchased a while back and does not have the DSON files be prepared or made to work in poser without trying to use the dson importer?

    That uses an older version of the DSON format, so you would need to use DS itself to load and resave the files I'm afraid - it won't work in Poser without that step. You could report it (via a support ticket) in the hope that it will be updated to DS 4.5+ format.

    Yeah, I got it into Poser using DSON, but I had to convert it first.
