need assistance: how can I get a PMD file into DS4.6

I just recently purchased Oskarsson's Caricatures M4 product from rendo and I am trying to load the caricatures onto Michael 4 in DS4.6

When I click the icon I see where it tries to run, but nothing happens.

The readme indicates that injectPMD is required. I have found some things about this in the forums but I do not understand what is being said about how to work around issues.

Can someone please help me get these caricatures loaded onto M4?

I do now have a copy of poser but I do not know anything about how to use it. I'm hoping this is possible just using DS4.6.
But, if not, I will take any help to get these morphs loaded. I so have an image in mind...

    The script InjPMD does not work in DS4+, but it does work in DS3.

    Have been using the advice below to use PMD in Daz

    "
    {

    version
    {
    number 6
    }
    prop figureHair
    {
    morphPmdFile :Runtime:libraries:Hair:Kozaburo:testbinaryhair.pmd
    storageOffset 0 0.3487 0
    objFileGeom 0 0 :Runtime:Geometries:Kozaburo:short_bob.obj
    }

    prop figureHair
    {
    name Short bob

    And D|S does not understand this; loading any prop or prop hair saved from Poser using external bunary morph targets produces the prop or prop hair with the morph channel dials, but no working morphs; and the log.txt for the load has repeated lines (one for each morph channel) saying it can't find the pmd file.

    I've found that if one changes morphpmdFile to morphBinaryFile, and then moves the line up out of the braces and before the actor decalaration (i.e. change the prop/hair format to the figure format), then D|S will happily load the prop or prop hair with working morphs.

    Thanks to the person who posted the advice it has been a lot of help with PMD

    In DS, PMD can only be read by way of a CR2 (it can't be injected like it can in Poser). Read this thread from Bejaymac over at Hivewire to learn how to set it up.

    I usually use MorphExchange to embed PMD file data in some Poser files. It is an external Java tool and works on Mac as well as long as an appropriate Java version is available.

    I had a couple of oskarson's characters for V4.. I'm lucky enough to have a version of poser, so I loaded poser, loaded v4, injected the morph into V4, and saved her as a new cr2.

    then in Daz, I can open genX, and convert the cr2 for a morph for Genesis 1 or Genesis2.

    that was my work around I guess.....sure wish Daz would fix the pmd functionality. Step backward :(

    thank you all so much for your replies... I will look into these suggestions and see if I can get something to work

    ... though I might need some assistance as I get down into the nitty gritty :)
