Skeletons: Is the "Upgrade" and the "New" product the same?

What is the actual difference between this product:
http://www.daz3d.com/v3-m3-skeletons-upgrade-from-skeleton
and this product:
http://www.daz3d.com/v3-m3-skeletons

I mean why would anyone purchase http://www.daz3d.com/v3-m3-skeletons when the Skeleton and Upgrade is cheaper?

If you own this skeleton, you can buy the upgrade:

    http://www.daz3d.com/skeleton

It is mentioned on the product page here (required products):

    http://www.daz3d.com/v3-m3-skeletons-upgrade-from-skeleton

If you don't have that skeleton then the full and more expensive pack is necessary.

I understand what it says, but are the products actually different? From the description, they say exactly the same thing... so one would think there is no difference between the two.

Furthermore, lets say I had neither. Why would i purchase the Full Version over the skeleton and upgrade if they are the same thing?

They are the same. As they are priced at this moment, buying the original skeleton and the upgrade is cheaper, but originally it was not, so if you didn't own the original skeleton it wouldn't be worth getting it just to get the upgrade. Several years ago they reduced the prices of a lot of older items to $9.95, including the original skeleton.

    Thank fixmypcmike,

If they are the same, again, why would one purchase the more expensive one? Why not just purchase the "upgrade" and the "upgrade only" (without purchasing the original skeleton at all)? Does the "upgrade" require something in the original skeleton for it to work?

No, and now that they're zips you could install the Upgrade version without owning the original Skeleton -- back when there were installers it wouldn't install if the original skeleton wasn't installed first. Now it's on the honor system.

Gotcha! Thanks! Now it all makes sense.
    Much appreciated.

I had the original skeleton and I bought the upgrade when it was released. The upgrade installer was effectively searching for the installed skeleton and I thought that it was still the same now even if DAZ does use zip files instead of installers.
