I have saved several props in the past with no deal difficulty, but for some reason I cannot save them, or at least if they are being saved I have no idea where to.

I import the obj file. I sort materials and select the item them go to save as scene/support asset/figure prop asset.]

under asset directory i only get two option and cannot alter these.

any ideas?

Normally they appear in props, in the folders I have set up/ not now though.

There are two locations when saving a figure or prop asset - the location of the hidden asset files, where you can pick a base directory from a drop-down list (and then the author and product names determine where in the Data folder the files go) and the location of the preset fro loading the file, for which you should get a standard file browser and which you can save where you like (other than the Runtime and Data folders). What are you getting?

Right, that's asking you where to put the asset files that are referred to by saved scenes and so on - as set they will go in C:\Users\Andy\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Data\Genejoke\lowolytree. You should then get a standard file dialogue, and in that you would pick something like \Props\Plants\Genejoke\Lowpoly Plants (say) which is where you would find the files for loading the props into DS in the Content Library pane.

    nm - misread question.

    ....

    then again, maybe not ...

If you aren't finding your files, n.b. that they save to the last used location for said action.

The info in your screen shot are for the places where the data is going to be stored. Those must be in the places the program works from.
Under Product, you can type more than one word separated by a "/" and they will all become folders.
    i.e. Clothing/Dresses/Red

You aren't meant to add to the base path options -those are your DAZ Studio content directories and it's asking you which to use (if you add a new content directory that too will appear on the list - I think there's a lot to be said for having a generally empty folder in which you place all of the files for a project until it's done, so you can package them up together and then move the working copy into your main content directory). The paths listed in the dialogue box are for the behind-the-scenes file, not for the files that appear in the content pane. Do you get the file requester to set the location of the file that does appear in the library pane next? If so, where do you place the file?

    Hi there.

I've imported a collada figure, that was neat in DAZ, parent included, but when I saved it as prop/figure asset, the child is missing.

    Thanks
