DIM Question - Redownload

I just noticed that the "Delete After Install" check box got marked in my DIM interface.

Short of uninstalling all of the missing items, is there a way to redownload the missing packages? I've gone through the DIM interface and can find nothing that will allow this.

  • You could temporarily rename the manifesats folder, or move its content elsewhere, so DIM couldn't see it, then you'd see all the missing zips as available for download.

That's scary. I am just thinking of all the things that could go potentially wrong...  Probably better off uninstalling, then redownloading and reinstalling.

I don't want to come back here screaming bloody murder in a couple of hours. :)

No, you were given the correct answer.... you don't need to reinstall,

    1. move the manifest folder out of the install manager folder,
    2. create a dummy manifest folder, tell DIM to download but not install,
    3. download wha you are missing,
    4. move the zips to the external drive of your choice,
    5. delete the originals from your download folder,
    6. move your original manifest folder back to replace the dummy manifest folder,
    7. uncheck the delete after install,
    8. return DIM to download and install....done.

Nothing to go wrong if you follw the instructions since you are never overwriting anything, your content isn't touched, and you retain control.

  • Oh, I don't doubt that it would work. I just know I would screw it up somehow.

There's only about 400 items that I have to redownload...  so it wasn't that bad to uninstall them once I set my mind to do it.

Installed tab > Right Click/Filter By Install Directory > Right Click/Select Installed-Without Install Package > Right Click/Export to CSV

Then I uninstalled the items. Started the Download. And will reinstall using the CSV to put them back to the same place.

I was just hoping there was a right click or pulldown I was missing that would have allowed me to re-download without uninstalling.
