how to enable dForce in Morphing Fantasy Armor?

Hello there,

I bought this armor set.

https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-morphing-fantasy-armor-genesis-8-male

I clicked on "Simulate" but the pop-up message said "No objects to simulate...etc." (see attachment).

The product description says "... including a dForce-enabled ".

How do I enable dForce on the armor?

Thank you,

_Ken

Why would you want to enable dForce on the armor itself? DForce is for simulating cloths, and would look super weird applied to something that's supposed to be rigid.

It's only the loincloth that's supposed to be dForce-enabled - do you have the loincloth in the scene?

@ Gordig and MelanieL - Thank you for your replies.

I have a character wearing some pieces of the armor set and when he is in an action pose, the leg is cutting through the fauld.

I thought dForce would simulate how the fauld could lift up and rest correctly on the upper leg.

    Thank you,

    _Ken

Well you could try adding a dForce modifier to it, but since it's meant to be fairly solid (metal armour) it would probably look weird.

Have you tried all the movement morphs - there should be several morphs to move the thigh area and "skirt" - I would hope some combination of these could get the effect you want.

@ MelanieL - Thanks for the tips.  I did try the movement morphs but it was not working as I wanted.

You said, "you could try adding a dForce modifier to it".

How would you do it?  I am not much familiar with dForce yet.

    Thank you.

Sorry for the long delay - I didn't get back to the forum till now.

OK, so you select the clothing item (Fauld in this case) then Edit - Object - Geometry - Add dForce Modifier Dynamic Surface. You probably need to adjust the dForce settings (in the Surfaces tab) so it doesn't move like thin cloth.

Now I suspect you are going to have all sorts of problems with the rivets flying off, because the piece is not built for dForce. There are some good threads on the forum about using clothing which wasn't built for dForce, but I think you have quite a learning curve ahead of you.

This is a great resource, but it's a massive thread and it may be a bit tough going to start with: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/208141/how-to-use-dforce-creating-a-blanket-draping-clothes-on-furniture-and-much-more-commercial/p1 - it has an index at the top. I'm not sure whether it covers this particular problem though.

Mada (the PA here) has some videos on youtube about dForce - her channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7JN0LtBaVOZmjaQKDZtxkQ/videos - the one about dForce weightmaps may be useful here.
