Come on PAs, it's a no brainer if you like money going into your wallet.

The shape of a poodle isn't going to be an isue. It's the hair. Need a hair expert for a poodle.

Hopefully not before we get Cat 8.

I would like a white(ish) poodle and a black(ish) poodle, both poodles with the famous comical clown poodle balloon haircut that looks like balls of fur alternating with shaved bald patches of skin.

I'm thinking the poodle body should be shaved by default with a bunch of options to place the puffs and layers of furs to various places.

Considering how sparse new product for Dog 8 has been in the nearly 3 years since it's introduction, I doubt it's been much of a cash cow for anyone.  That said, a poodle isn't that far off the basic D8 shape, but as has already been noted, it would require a PA who has a lot of skills working with the various forms of DAZ hair.  Maybe Oso would be willing to give it a shot...

...this type of poodle which makes a great hunting dog?

Or the more obnoxious urban variety?

In my experience, the problem with Poodles is that they are generally "one person dogs" and are very possesive about those people.  That goes double for the smaller varieties, which are also incredibly anxious and hyper.  Then again, I'll admit that while I had several dogs growing up, I've very much become a cat person as I've grown older.  Dogs are pack animals and need constant attention to stay mentally healthy, whereas cats are generally more chill.

I can't say that applies to my dog sparkle. She is sweet and good tempered and loves everyone.

I was working on a project to create a poodle; but it is on hold at the moment until I finish another project that has priority.

This is a WIP; but it could change.  Yeah, I know.... his hair is pink.  I was trying different fun colors on the hair materials. LOL  I am also trying different curl styles.

When we lived in Florida, my partner worked at a pet store and the owner and his wife had two purebred standard poodles. Eeriest dogs I've ever met. They were enormous and I'm convinced they could read minds. I ended up riding in the back of the van with them on the way back into town from the state fairgrounds once, and I felt like John Connor being escorted by two really floppy T-800s. I absolutely loved them but I think they cost an obscene amount of money and would probably need a steady supply of unsolved mysteries for daily enrichment.

Here here...  and a Yorkie too.

Is there a precedent for setting up a Small Dog Fund? Any ideas... like "3D Kickstarter" or similar. No recent posts (ie. this year 2021) in the "Product Suggestions" forum.

P.S. the Dire Wolf video on YouTube is surprisingly good.

That's getting close to the kind I meant. Looks super.

That would probably work best really.

    Or a bird 8...

I would reeeally like a new crow/raven, the most recent one here is pretty old, and even the "other store" one looks a bit dated (which doesn't matter so much, but still)...

If you are talking about Ken Gillilands Crow it was updated in January.

After the poodles we should also get some puddles to go with all the doggies... and of those chocolate soft ice emoji looking thingies, too... and small plastic bags for those chocolate soft ice thingies... and small shovels..

When You want doggies You have to go all the way!

From the look of the promos and information it still looks like the old model with a new file structure and Iray presets.

It's still better than the ones here, and still looks nice, but it's not really "modern" looking enough (the legs especially). Unfortunately.

Poodles are highly intelligent. My doggo enters a room, and can tell when something has been moved, or it isn't right. She lets me know. When I change the calendar page, of the calendar, she notices it too. I've never had a doggo as observant as Sparkle is.

Sparky has a greyhound morph for the Hivewire dog over on Philosopher's Egg. Isn't a Whippet mostly a matter of scale?

Thanks for this, I'll check it out.

  • Markgoode7....I think you may be right about Whippet's. I just checked images for both Greyhounds and Whippets and they are so close in looks, except Whippets are smaller.  I use to have a hybrid Whippet/Lab which looked like a muscular Whippet lol, really liked the fact she didn't look like she was starving as those dogs tend to appear like.

I caught my dog's eyes tracking a mote of dust once, as it floated along in a sunbeam for just a second or two.

Just before or just after we get Cat 8... Perhaps.
