How can I find if my wishlist items are in coupon sale?

There is a coupon sale on at the moment, choose 5 items in the list of 15000 and you get 70% off. Sounds good, but there's a catch. My wishlist items are the ones I want to get first. They don't show up as having discounts until I put the coupon code in. There is no way I can see to filter out the non wishlist stuff from the 15000 in the list, so I'm left with three options:

1) Search through all 15000 items to see if by chance any wishlist item is mentioned.

2) Add the wishlist items to the cart 5 at a time on a trial and error basis and try it out.

3) Do what I'm actually going to do, and say 'If the store makes it too difficult to find the info I want, I can't be bothered.'.

How does anyone else tackle this problem? Do you have an efficient way of finding if your wishlist items are in the offer?

Regards,

Richard

  • There is an independent browser add-on that will allow you to tick a box at the top of the products to show only your wishlist.  From the top of the formum thread, select the link for your browser.

How about taking the wishlist, look at it, assign some priorities such as top twenty, search for them in the list of on sale which should take you ten minutes or try that Daz Deals Browser plug-in https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/106296/announcing-daz-deals-browser-add-on/p1 and see what in your wishlist is on sale?

How about a filter for the 15000 of 'In Wishlist'? Simpler for everyone by far.

They don't come up as on sale, anyway. The sale price relies on a coupon code.

Do browser plugins work on Android? Specifically Chrome for V9.

  • I think it is all the store but new and PC+

  • Thing is, I'm one of those old fashioned people who likes to know and not guess when it comes to money.

I know this store feels guessing is preferable, as it may lead to more spending. But with me it is a sure way to get less spend.

I'm very old fashioned too, but in this sale I really cannot see what the problem is. The promo says 'Sale excludes PC+, Gift Cards, New and already on sale items'. So anything in my wishlist without a discount is good to go. The hardest part for me was to decide which five items I need the most and there is no plugin that could help me with that... smiley

You can sort by "price high to low," and choose the ones where you'll save the most. :D

No. I just went through it and bought some stuff on the deal. It was only part of my wishlist in it.

  • Note that the discount code appears to work for five items or less. So you can add wishlist item, check if it gets the discount, add another, remove any one that doesn't, etc. You don't have to check them in batches of five.

Basically I just added wishlist items that weren't still new or weren't already showing a discount and it worked. YMMV.

  • Thanks all, but the general conclusion seems to be that no efficient way exists for someone restricted to Android for browsing. Cheaper for me, then.

Not sure but I use chrome on a PC, at the top of the page there are 4 check boxes. You have to be logged in or there are only 2. check the "do not show items I own" and the only show wishlist. This works anytime you are looking at the product lost in your browswer. The list will drop down to only one or two pages, all on your wishlist. They will still not show the discount till you go to your cart and apply the code but you will get the didcount. Just checked my phone, It only gives items I own and PC+. Sorry. Don't you hace a computer to render with?

  • I have a Win7 machine to render with. It's simply time expired for internet connection, and I use an android tablet as a firewall for it.

This reply is too late for the sale in question, but I share the OP's frustration. It would be great if there were an easy solution; the closest I could get was to filter the 15,000+ list of products by Artist (you might have to start typing the first few letters of your favorite PA's name in the filter's search field because for sales involving a lot of artists, not all artists' names appear in the filter's drop down menu). That cuts the list down to an easily scanned subset.

Even with a dozen different PA names, it only took me maybe ten minutes and that's including time spent viewing product pages.

There was mention of a 'Wishlist' filter. I'm now able to look at the sales with my work PC. And this is what I see:

No 'In Wishlist' filter. So that doesn't seem to happen.

@pds: Is it normal for IT companies having sales deliberately make it difficult for their customers filter items in their sale? I think DAZ is in a minority, possibly of one, in doing so. I know of other sites (including a number of ones selling thousands of maquettes) that enable you to filter that way. They want to sell to you, not make it difficult to find out if an item is in a sale.

I have ceased buying from Amazon because they wouldn't show me results related in any way to the search I had typed in (this happened, I typed in the exact title of a book I wanted a duplicate of - had a worn out copy next to me so there was no risk of getting the title wrong - and limited the searches to 'books', and got NOT ONE SINGLE BOOK in the first page of results, they were taking the proverbial & I've not gone back). I am the customer, they are there for me. It is NOT a priveledge for me to spend my money at their store and take whatever odure they choose to give me.

I don't want to feel the same with DAZ, but needing to take 10 mins to confirm if any or all of my wishlist items is in a sale? Honestly? Distinct odour of odure about that.

I think someone's 'avin' a larf. And it isn't me.

    Richard

The in wishlist option comes from the Daz deals browser plug-in.

  • So unavailable to someone with android?

    That's good.

Has DAZ considered buying the plug-in from the developers, or working more closely with them to support the plug-in, or something like that?

The plug-in is a lifesaver in multiple ways, but there are cases where it doesn't work as expected. For example, some listings show the "in wishlist" filter, and others don't. I presume that this has something to do with subtle differences in the page implementation that mean that the plug-in developers can't implement that functionality on those particular pages. But I also assume that DAZ could make changes or document features in ways that might help the plug-in developers handle the edge cases.

As far as I can see, the plug-in is good for DAZ. It's certainly helped me find things I wanted on the site and so spend money that I might not otherwise have spent.

I've been playing the game for so long now that I've been conditioned to expect to do some work to "earn" the sale price. The strategy is definitely frustrating and annoying at times and I get where you're coming from. I would rather these sales make it easier for me to part with my money, but there certainly seems to be a contingent of shoppers here who enjoy playing Daz's "Sales Jenga" to maximize their savings. And I don't mean that to be flippant--I have seen numerous people comment to that effect (stackable sales seem to really get people excited).

    Are you logged in?

  • Oh yes.

Plugins are not permitted on my work PC. So if I were to have one, it'd have to work on Android. Specifically Android 9 Chrome. Thus far it seems the answer to that hope is 'Ha, Ha, Ha'. nd it appears DAZ has no desire to remedy the lack in their store software when there is a plugin to solve the problem that doesn't seem to be possible for everyone to use. An interesting, customer focussed approach, no?

    Regards,

    Richard.

Sounds like it's time for new store software!
