anyone happen to know how a modelling magazine shoot usually works?

I wanted to have a scenario where a female bikini model is having photo's of herself taken in a gym for a magazine whilst she works out in a bikini. Basically for the whole thing they have hired out a public gym for part of the day so its closed to the public.
I'm really trying to get some 'behind the scenes' type shots too incorperated in the scenario which would include casual shots of the crew working on the model shoot whilst they adjust things and tamper with their cameras etc etc but I really don't know anything about how modelling shoots work in these typs of instances in regards to how many people are needed for such a thing. I figure there would obviously be the photographer and then perhaps the lighting guy who fools around with the shadow umbrella thingy to get it right then there is perhaps the makeup artist guy/gal on standby to pretty her up whenever its felt to be needed, but what else other crew staff do you think should be added in total? generally on average is there a LOT of people behind the camera?
Its unlikely but maybe even someone who may have worked behind the scenes for a magazine that shoots beautiful women modelling could fill me in on what their entourage usually consists of generally? she's not a hyper celeb or anything but still somewhat famous.

Hi
If its a proper commercial shoot you will have
The Photographer (often on commecial shoots not the one in charge! unless they are a big name)
Photographer assistant(s)
Makeup artist ,Hair stylist, Costume (sometimes the same person or is the model)
Artistic director if this is a commecial shoot this is the person calling the shots and who is commisioning it they decied what shots are needed and what needs to be seen. if its say for sports wear all logos must be clearly visable coordinated and no competitors in shot and have a big say in the entire shoot
other people could be
Security
Facilty staff
Models Agent / Assistants
It gets very open ended and expensive so shoots are usualy two or three people there is no money in modeling shoots unless its someone famous or the model is paying its a very limited market but then I dont live in a major urban area so othrs will have a different experience.
I used to do photoshoots for actors and theatres and well thats taken a downturn sadly. The biggest shoot I did was for a theatre in Northern Ireland in a city centre street with a horse, two period costumed actors (one of whom was scared of the horse...), three horse handlers and their vehicals, theatre director, costumer, several theatre staff and directors, and a local TV crew that held everything up....
Things that were unexpected were the theatre did not close the street!!!!!, It absolutely peeed it down and cars and a lorry all wanted to get past the horse at high speed and did I mention a tv crew? lets just say it was an interesting morning all for a poster to advertise the new show.
What Pitmatic said. Photoshoots have a lot of people behind the scenes. I was in advertising for 8 years and directed/shot corporate videos for 7 years after that.
I would add craft services/catering to the list.
For reference here's a behind the scenes look of an SI photoshoot from getty images.
Don't forget the paraphernalia - lights, reflectors, multiple cameras on tripods etc.
commercial shoot at a location will either have a portable changing area (winabago/trailor/tent/enclosure) or a room in the building. the make up/ clothing designer / wardrobe tend to be there. scene staff like roadies for bands deal with props scenery equipment such as lights set up. security is usually on all egresses. the photographer is pretty self evident. the managers for both the client and the model will be all over the place out of shot. there may be a few gofers and possibly aids to the clients manager. a shoot can become very populated or just be a couple people.
