Did you remap the model in Substance Painter, or elsewhere? Is Substance Painter set to use UVs rather than projections or the like?
if you exported an .obj file from marvelous designer and then you imported that same .obj in Substance and Daz Studio, then the UVs/texture maps should match up. Maybe if you provided more info about what you are doing we could advise further.
Also - you say you dont know how to export from Substance, but then say you brought the textures back into Daz. (Raises the question, how did you get them to Daz if you dont know how to export them?)
Hi i don’t know how to export them right that’s what i mean whwn i export it out of substance painter theres a drop down menu and it says dilation + inflation or non passing i don’t know if i should choose any of those or what to choose
ii will send some images later to make it more it more understanding to you! So you can help me with it better
hi see this what happens see the stretching on the sleeves and collar i dont understand why this is happening to me
My initial guess is that you changed your UV's for the mesh in Marvelous Designer after exporting to Substance Painter. So the one you used in Substance Painter and the one you used in Daz Studio are now different. One way to check if that's the case is to go to UV Editor in Marvelous Designer and then go to export a texture. You can then compare the export from Marvelous Designer to the one from Substance Painter to see that the texture maps match up (i.e., check that the UV islands are in same place).
The "Stretching" that you speak of is likely the "dilation" around the UV borders that substance painter exports. See attached (A= Border of UV island, B=dilation outside of the border). In Daz studio, you are probably using a mesh with UV island that is overlapping with the dilation part of the texture.
Can't you just use the same mesh you imported to Substance Painter in Daz Studio? - that way you know UV's are same.
hi am i suppose to quandragulate the mesh before i export from marvelous designer i think that might be my problem and what setting am i suppose to be on when i export from substance painter iam confused about that
here are my setting before i export am i doing this right
you dont have to quadrangulate the mesh before exporting from MD - that only affects the arrangment of faces. it doesnt have any impact on UVs/textures. You may want to quadrangulate the mesh for other reasons, e.g., Dforce prefers quads, but not essential.
Regarding texture export settings, i dont really know how they are supposed to look. Mine look like this, but maybe yours are more correct.
Either way, i dont think that's related to your issue. I think your issue is UVs of your obj in Substance Painter and Daz Studio are diffeernt thus the textures dont align.
hi how did you get daz to be one of the choices on the left side
i made it
oh you mean i have to make it
is that the problem you think
Yes, sure, But according to your screenshot, you already made one called RayRay, so you could just use or edit that one.
Making a new preset is not going to fix the potential issue of your UVs being mis-aligned, which you seem unwilling to look into based on my advice. Or have you already done that?
Reminder, my suggestion:
Probably as an additional troubleshooting step, you should export the mesh you are using in Daz Studio and look at the UV's of that mesh to see if they align with the one in Substance Painter.
ok see i dont know how to do that thats the problem
