instant freeze

I saved a scene with instances
it loads fine and is animated too
but
I cannot delete them as DAZ studio freezes and stops responding every time???

    If the instances are grouped try un-grouping them and deleting them individually and see if that works. Also, are you giving the program time to do whatever it is doing to freeze it. I sometimes have to wait a while for it to become responsive again. Starting up Task Manager and seeing if it is using processor power will let you know if it is still working away in the background.

    Studio can become quite inresponsive when working with a large number of instances, and apparently deleting them is an intensive task. Try deleting fewer at a time, and give Studio some time to recover.

    thx, had 100 so yes quite a few
    gave up waiting after an hour
    I shall think twice about saving scenes with instances though
    or at least save 2 scenes
    oddly it does not show much RAM usage
